Confirmed with Link: Jake Evans Signs Extension 4 Years 2 85m Aav

Yea because that's I said. :help: Why do some people want to create their own narrative to fit their story?

I'm saying the Evans line has zero usefullness. While a crash and bang line would.

I'm just trying to make sense of a very puzzling statement.

You could still have that line without having to downgrade Evans to Condotta. Condotta is a downgrade in every aspect except being a bit bigger and a bit more physical. We've seen him at the NHL level and he wasn't really a physical force.

You're just building a worse line just to add a smidge of inconsequential physicality.

Condotta was fine when he was with us. In fact I wanted him to play more and we should not have send him down.

Evans cannot play crash and bang and that's what we need. We had zero response against St Louis. We were freaking abused. We need a real physical line that would help us. Evans has not helped us in a long, long, long time. It doesn't matter that Evans is a better player when HE DOES NOTHING TO HELP US!

Pitlick may be a better player than Deslaurier but every teams would pick Deslaurier first. Cause as a whole he help his team more.

It's not better if your "physical line" is hemmed into their zone because they're not that good at hockey.

He was fine as the 14-16th forward, sure. You still can't be a serious NHL team having him in your top12.

If you want more physicality, just change the wingers.

You could definitely change the wingers.

Could Evans be somehow a little bit disgruntled after signing is contract? If he thinks he left many millions on the table.

Good on Hughes for standing his ground on the contract negotiation. At 2,8 M per year , he can be traded if a youngster is ready to take his spot

I guess only if they thought he was something more than what he's shown over his entire career beside a few hot streaks here and there. An excellent #4C who excels on the PK at $2.8M is terrific value.
I think it is good value for a defensive 4th C as well, but don't expect too much from Evans.

Evans wasn't forced to sign the deal, he signed it because he didn't want to be traded.

What we are seeing is just "normal Evans".

imo, he's playing with two thirds of a line right now. Hard to look good in that scenario.

I'm really worried about Armia doing long term damage to his wrist because of playing through it injured. Don't be surprised if we hear in a couple of years that Armia has to retire early because of chronic wrist issues.

At that price, it's hard to have regrets. I'm notnsure if he's battling through something but Evans, armia, and heineman are definitely not what they were earlier in the year.
Losing Armia as a shooting option is not helping him for sure.

How is it insane, he knows the guarantee cash coming. His game definitely fell off. He's scored two goals in over 20 games, one was empty net. His faceoff percentage has fell off. Definitely not same guy.
Guaranteed at 2/3rd if you count buyouts, plus he doesn't have any NMC or NTC.

Not the best advice followed for him...
