if this team is trying to be a contender, then Evans would either need to take a big step forward offensively or he's got to be the 4th line center.

Yeah, as much as I like Evans I don't see much offensive upside to him. Could be wrong but I'd rather have him as a shutdown 4C that can chip in 3C if needed.
If we have to absolutely convert one of Poehling or Evans to the wing I would rather do it with Poehling who is bigger and can actually involve himself physically on the boards or protect the puck much better than Evans. If he has offensive upside, I see it coming out more on the wing - when he has less to worry about concerning the defensive end.
Ideally I have him playing on a 3rd line at wing, and then as a great injury replacement if a center goes down. I think he's better than a 4c.
I was hoping we'd see Evans - Danault - Gallagher as our 3rd line this year.
If Poehling makes it as a C, and with Hoffman already out, maybe we'll see him on the wing in the top 9 some time this year.

I can see Poehling becoming somewhat of a powerforward while Evans on the wing? Meh...
Exactly. Jake Evans was once considered a poor skater and now he is considered fast. One of the biggest improvements I have ever seen regarding improvement of skating.Ask Jake Evans.

According to Beaudoin, Montreal is in negotiations with Evans for a 3-year deal in the $1.5M AAV neighborhood.
If that's true, that's a reward for hard bloody work and commitment to improve each year.

Evans was a good skater in term of balance and agility but he was slow, I don’t know if I seen any guy making such a improvement in term speed and quickness.Evans was never considered a poor skater, can we stop with that. He's described as a good skater on his midget to junior draft notes.
Yes, he improved.
Mysak also needs to improve.

YOU ARE INCORRECT, that is not possible...Evans was developed by the Habs as well .

with the quality wingers he’s going to have, he’s going to produce no doubt.
Evans is not gonna score 40 points. He's likely gonna get mid 20s.With his passing ability and got two scorers like Hoffman and Gallagher, no doubt that line can be very good. 30-40 points is a good projection for Evans. He got hockey IQ and passing ability to product.
