Coen didn't want to yet another victim of Baalke. He's thrown more coaches under the bus than anybody, while kissing serious owner ass. & isn't even a very good GM to begin with.

Sounds like Coen gets to pick his GM.

Doesn’t beat how Andy Reid ended up in KC though.

Refresh me?

I think he's talking about how Scott Pioli suddenly lost his job deep into Chiefs negotiations with Andy Reid:

Not only that, Pioli was the one who pushed so hard got them to hire Reid. Anyone in Philadelphia knew he was writing his own death wish.

🍿

Well whoever gets the Bucs OC job will by this time next year be named the head coach of, someone.

Sounds like Coen cured the cancer. Doctors will be studying this for years to come.

Gotta imagine that Coen is going to essentially be able to pick his own boss. All things negative about the Jags organization aside, that's a solid tail wagging the dog situation for a coach.

lol Coen didn’t scheme his way into the job. Shad Kahn literally said out loud that if a head coaching candidate didn’t want to work with Baalke, he’d consider a different GM. Coen, like any sensible HC candidate, said “ok, Shad, I want Baalke out”.

The Buccaneers losing their 1 season offensive coordinator 2 years in a row.
Consequences of having a defensive minded head coach.

Titans with Vrabel was really good through their first two OCs in LaFleur and Smith. Not so much with Downing or Kelly.

If your OC is really good at his job, someone will pay through the nose to get him.

Coen did what anyone would do if another employer told them they'd get a promotion that comes with somewhere in the neighborhood of an additional $8-10M/yr.
