Value of: Jackson Lacombe

Anyone with eyes can see he is quickly becoming one of the top defenders in the league, a top-5 player from his draft class and is an absolute animal.

He is eligible for an extension in the summer and Anaheim will want to lock him up long term. What numbers do we think he’ll get?

Will it be over/under 9M?

Basically, start by looking at Brock Faber and then adjust a little bit based on how you think they compare. Then add a smidge due to cap increase.

I personally don't think he is quite as valuable, so I'll say 8x8ish if they believe in him.

He'll get a similar deal to Thomas Harley imho. I predict a 2-year, 5 mil a pop deal to get him to a massive payday if he keeps emerging. I don't think the Ducks give him 8x8, and I don't think his camp settles on 8 x 6.75. I think they agree on 2 years and punt.

Its going to be interesting because he has another year to go on his $925k contract. If he keeps performing like this he is going to push himself closer to $10m but I am hoping we can get him for 8x8m

I'd be hesitant to go long term tbh. Having a good year but definitely not a slam dunk star Dman going forward either.

If probably bridge him unless he's willing to sign for 8x$8M or less.

Give him the Faber deal if he’s willing to sign for 8 years. If I were him I’d rather pull a Wyatt Johnston though but he’d get less on a 5 year deal.
