Yeah they lost. In the grand scheme of things, who cares right? Its even for the better.

Normally yes. Any other game and team than this one. This is a game they needed to win for the fans and they didn't show up in large numbers. This game mattered to every jacket fan in attendance having to endure that swarm of mouth breathers. Holy ****, do they organize short bus caravans at city hall before games in Columbus.

I know plenty of fine pens fans. Alone they're great people, but together... Talk about a herd mentality of general awfulness.

Yeah I'm bitter. Nothing I hate more than a game like last night.

I agree on Prout as a 7. He gives us our very own goon (and a very effective one at that) whenever it is needed

Can we get a gif of Prout dragging that guy from the crease? I was sitting by several Pens fans and even they were laughing about it

Well, it's easy to root for a good team. Let them try rooting for a team like ours year after year and we'll see how great those fans are.

Thank you for that. None of the Pens do anything about it either

You could tell something was wrong with Malkin right after that hit. His arm was just kind of limp and he casually skated to the bench. Sounds like a break of some sort

Yeah, he didn't play the entire 3rd period. Thing is - nobody missed him.

Seemed like collar bone the way the arm was hanging.

Not too keen on watching our team play without Saad. Even without Malkin the Pens were sharper.. just slightly more conservative.

In my ideal situation, we would have enough talent to push him to 7.

We already did have the talent to push him to 7 or 8, and he still played ahead of those guys. Connauton was a much better d-man. Heck even Golo sits sometimes in favor of Prout, which is nuts to me.

Some on their board are blaming Sestito being a healthy scratch for Malkin's injury

I hope we never tolerate that level of delusion on this board.

The Pens are so soft and weak that even their toughest guy is a Jackets draft pick.

I agree 100%.

I have no answer other than I speculate cotton was waived because they knew someone would claim him and his salary. But honestly I have no clue and that's my best guess / attempt at reason.

I don't know why either. But I bet Prout would get claimed too.

Could be that they wanted to conserve RHD, because they're a scarcer resource leaguewide (though not currently on our club), and it's not that hard to find LHD on the market.

It's also easier to find a "good" bottom pair d-man than to find a guy like Prout. He might be a worse hockey player, but he's unique.

Or it could be related to some behind the scenes stuff. Maybe Cotton ticked off Torts.

Or maybe they just messed up.

If he can keep Pen fan nice and whiney like they still are raving on the mains about him, I say we keep him. The sheer entertainment value of listening to them cry makes putting up with the bonehead stuff he does worth it. Almost.

Yeah I'm enjoying him now, but that's only because the club doesn't really need to win.

When you're in a situation where a win is no longer substitutable with some ass-whooping, then Dalton Prout suddenly becomes a problem, not an asset.
