Liked how Berube was asked postgame about using Walman on the pp this year and he basically said wake me up if he makes the club. Said Krug, Parayko, and Faulk as his pp guys.
I really wish the Jackets broadcast was better. That, and the Blues playing like they actually care lmao if Kostin is using his body each shift to stay engaged, then that's much better than just coasting like other players have done and will continue to do. Washkurak was also doing whatever he could to get a turnover, but he definitely needs some seasoning to build up puck handling against better competition. Not that he cant do it, but there are times where he (and others) just dont have the ability to hold onto the puck and distribute it. I really like him as a 4th line guy in the future.Aside from Parayko and maybe Scandella the rest of the D have been awful. We should never have to witness Cross or Wesley ever again. Disappointed with both Walman and Santini tonight. Both playing like tweeners.
And there Walman scores on a clapper.
I wish they'd give Kostin some linemates to work with. At the very least he's trying to make a difference physically every shift.
Neal is a definite upgrade over Clifford, Maceachern or Joshua. I expect him to earn a contract.
I'm a Washkurak fan. Give him 2 years and I think he'll be a good energy player. Reminds me a lot of a young Sobotka.
Logan Brown will surprise....eventually. Maybe not this year but I think he breaks out next year after the Blues mold him. He's surprisingly fast once he gets his motor running. Seems more engaged than I saw in Ottawa. I love the trade.
Whatever. Cbj scored 4 against our echl quality d pair and 1 on empty.Watched bits pieces...embarrassing

Me neither. In a weird way, I kinda feel bad for him.I just don't see what Frolik brings at this point.
I might have overstated it a bit, but his answer to me reeked of “why would we play him on pp when we have much better players?”I didn't read that at all in his comments. When asked whether Walman will get PP time with Dunn gone Berube said "Yea, we'll see how it goes, you know. We have guys, Faulk, Krug, Parayko, I mean we have guys but you never know. So, um, Wally got one tonight on the powerplay, which was good, and we'll just see where it goes."
There is nothing there about him potentially not making the team. Then asked what he wants to see out of Walman in camp AND going forward. He listed what he wanted to see, but again, made no mention of Walman's chances of making the team. He could have been answering about a guy with a locked roster spot who could help the team more by elevating his game, or an AHLer who is fighting for a spot. It could have been about either. What do you want to see: play a simple game, transition the puck quickly and offensively shoot more.
Biggest thing to me was cross and Wesley are awful pair.I didn't watch it. Sounds like they were playing scared? Unfamiliar with each other so much so that they couldn't overcome?
Sounds like one of the most boring and disconnected hockey games I've ever heard of.
And should not and will not ever be Chief's problem in the regular season.Biggest thing to me was cross and Wesley are awful pair.
Wesley hasn't been on an NHL contract for the last 2 seasons and isn't currently on one. He'e not even on our depth chart.Biggest thing to me was cross and Wesley are awful pair.
Exactly. Which is why I am less than not at all bothered by last nights showing.Wesley hasn't been on an NHL contract for the last 2 seasons and isn't currently on one. He'e not even on our depth chart.
Cross is a 32 year old AHL journeyman who is on a contract clearly structured to put him in the minors. He was signed to help our affiliate roster a decent defense and ensure that our super young goalie prospects aren't getting left out to dry every night. He is no higher than 9th on the depth chart and is probably 10th or 11th.
The only way we're seeing them both on the Blues in the regular season is if injuries have fully decimated the team. The number of injuries required would undoubtedly lead us to claiming a couple D off waivers or burning a 7th round pick to get a warm body. Neither of these guys has an NHL future ahead of them. These aren't prospects that we had plans for.
Indeed. If we see those two on our regular season roster we will be talking about who we are drafting with the #1 pick next year and how bad the injury bug has bit us.Wesley hasn't been on an NHL contract for the last 2 seasons and isn't currently on one. He'e not even on our depth chart.
