The Devils team (Meier aside) are pretty likeable - it's not like the old days of Scott Stevens and Claude Lemieux where I had legitimate hate for Devils players. I just don't like their fanbase very much.
Stevens is one of my favorite players ever not a ranger,
And Limiuex was a hard core bad ass that complemented that team perfectly.

Hughes is better than the entire Rangers roster combined (slight exxageration), so yeah this tracks. Nothing bad about it.

Hughes is a star and will be pummeling this team for 10+ years. I hate it so much. Rangers won't be as close to as good as the Devils during that period.
Curious to see if 31 G.M.s would value Hughes over Fox?
I wouldn’t.
Not sure if I were to start a team if I would pick Hughes over Igor Shesterkin?

It's true.

Also you can live in NYC while playing for the Devils very easily if you want to.

It's different and you know it.

And it is not true at all they got ass-stomped by a Carolina team Alexis Lafrenière had a dynamite game 7 against the year before.

It's not really. They're already a top 5 team and one of the youngest teams in the league. They also don't really have cap trouble.

It really is and I'd say that about any team. Since 04 there have been 4 teams that won multiple cups. Saying that about any team is ridiculous.

Will say I'm on that Hughes wagon for a few weeks if the NHL does the Olympics. We're going to f*ck up the whole entire world. Team shaping up to be insanely stacked. TkachukS. Oh and that childhood bond Fox/McCavoy pairing. D-rool.

Three of those four teams had young cores loaded with lottery picks and had playoff runs very early in their window.

Drives me crazy, when people get upset that Mika does DJ’ing and mixing on the side and think that it interferes with his hockey game. As someone also in the music field, have mad respect for that. Lundqvist played guitar on the side. Didn’t hurt him one bit.

Lundqvist did way more than just play guitars. He was doing commercials in Sweden and has always been involved in philanthropy.

How many hours do people expect players to be working on hockey and the gym? After a certain number of hours, they are just risking injury.

Jack Hughes is a very dynamic player… but his size and frame are akin to Pat LaFontaine.
I only wish him health and success…but just like LaFontaine he is more vulnerable to being injured from the physical rigor’s of playing in the NHL.

Ok but it's still a stretch to call any team ever a likely multi-cup winner. Look at Edmonton.
It'll be 2040 and 15 of the next 17 Cups will be won by a team with a first or second overall pick and people will still be saying BuT l0ok At eDMoNtoN.

Except it'll be "look at Edmonton and the Rangers."

Poor Jack Hughes tho.
