Jack Eichel is quietly becoming a top-5 player in the league

He is right there for me. But There is no doubt in my mind that he has reclaimed his status as the best us born center in the game. Leadership, grit, scoring, a good representative for the team. He's the Complete package. Showed it tonight.

I mean other than the game against the Blackhawks which was on a b2b on a game where he was used pretty heavily to carry them in their first game he's been pretty good on D other than desperation plays where he had to hustle back to make up for someone like Risto or McCabe.

That said, he should be. His hype was crazy, and he’s 23 now. This is typically the age in which high draft picks peak offensively. What we see now is The Jack Eichel. He’s painting a beautiful picture right now.

My point was always that From the beginning of his second season when he got injured the day before the year started and came back from the first of two sprained ankles, in December 2016...he’s been a top 15 point producer on league. Not everyone has to be Bergeron.

Yet he’s got a better plus minus then Barkov (And we know what he’s praised for) and the sabres have bad goaltending, yet Florida signed the ten million dollar two time vezina winner. It’s just plus minus sure but because of the way he skates (top five skater in league) it allows him to backcheck more efficiently which he’s immensely improved on since coming Into the bigs.

Speaking of his skating since you sort of ripped on it....

Ps- he’s finally getting respect, why not just let him have that rather then trying to find something, that “coasting” by the way is his skating style. He looks raptor like and it allows him to dangle by most, and make quick transitions into whatever zone he wants. He doesent has the typical mackinnon crossover acceleration take off.



Bottom line, he as some good teammates now but I can only imagine how many points he’d have on Tampa bay or wherever else, we’ve see wasaayyyy too many players in his tenure fan on beautiful feed where they’ve hadn’t open net and shoot wide.

These are his last three seasons in his environment.

Now he has what 34 in 26 or 27 and has finally got the goal scoring down. Thats good for any player let alone a guy in his first five seasons, having sprained both ankles. He’s electric and can dominate at any time he’s like a mAlkin (not as good as he was) but in that same dominant way.



Yeah yeah I’m talking him up still but it’s just facts. If anyone has noticed I haven’t started an Eichel these in way over a year and don’t plan too...I’d rather try and be humble from here on out.

I swear him and Patrick Mahomes are somehow related. They are both dominant nonchalant marionettes.
 
I wouldn't say quietly. This year he's definitely swayed public opinion of him. I honestly think he should be a Hart candidate. Just a one man team out there.

Funny, I was trying to come up with an art analogy earlier and just abandoned the attempt.

One last thing I'll fanboy about- I love how well he's picking his spots right now. Ever since the Ottawa game he's really figured out what goes where- puck in space on the rush, shoot. Did it tonight, just deadly accurate and he's utilizing it more. In the corner- dangle, deke, make something happen, and dish it when a chance opens up. Beautiful assist tonight as an example. Don't dangle near the blue line, don't force passes- I feel like his smarts and skills feed his confidence and vice versa, so right now it's just a big happy feedback loop. In the past he's forced something, lost the puck, and it kinda seems to throw his game off. He seems to have adopted a more north-south game where he then takes risks in the relative safety of the corners, he conserves energy so he can explode outta those corners or get back for D- it's just a really solid play style that allows him to dominate at points without risking much. He's capable defensively, back checks well, and is making efficient use of the offensive zone.

Someone said this today. His skating style makes him look like he is just cruising when he is not. Glad you mentioned the back checking, ever since being named captain I noticed an elevation in his 2 way game. He busts his butt to get back. Really appreciate this development in his game.

Correction, Sabres don't have the "right supporting cast" to be a playoff team.
They are currently lacking a true 2nd line center/driver, 1 RW top 6, 3 to 4 bottom 6 with size, grit and determination, 1 top 2 d man, 1 top 6 man.
They have the depth for sure, they just lack 4 to 6 components. It is what it is.

His defensive play has been above average this season. You can tell he's put the work in. I'm not saying he's a Selke candidate or anything this year, but he could be a 2 way force if he keeps on his current trajectory.

You obviously didn’t even read post or the fact I haven’t made an Eichel thread in over a year and don’t plan too soon.

I caught so Much heat for calling him a top five offensive player (not overall player but offense) and in look he’s fifth in scoring. I could brag about that but this is the first I’ve mentioned it. There’s so much I could say that I let go...

There are literally more people making posts about me talking about him then there is me talking about him. This shouldn’t be about me.

It’s about Eichel and even if that was true it’s still quietly in the media, don’t let whatever you feel about me effect what

And i'm not the only who would not be upset it if Eichel went through a funk just so we can throw it your face the way you do with literally anything he does.

This is exactly, just surrounded by trash. They refuse to give the guy Skinner and Reinhart just gets carried by Eichel. Hard to imagine how bad Sabres are without Eichel. I think a bottom three team, even this year.

Coming from the guy who gets off on ripping the sabres, the last paragraph isn’t shocking. But keep hoping that will happen. As long as he’s playing he’s never going to be a below PPG player until he slows down in his 30’s.

And your just very wrong about me throwing it in everyone’s face. I don’t start threads anymore like you did about the sabres sucking, or a jinx thread to get them to suck, I just reply for the most part.

I only before did stuff to show people what he was doing because no one wanted to watch a bad buffalo team and it was always his injuries that kept Him back from being a top scorer, his second season he was 10th In points per game. Now I don’t even care to talk about him as much, because people are getting it. His play speaks for itself.

You can keep hating it if you wish, life will be a lot easier though if you don’t. And LOL at the cheap mile long posts joke to try and gain positive attention to yourself I guess? Redundant garbage that wasn’t relevant, this right here is the longest post I’ve done in awhile. (Edit- so there was one a bit longer. I don’t keep tabs the main points remain correct.)
