Injury Report: Jack Campbell "Out for weeks"

  • Xenforo Cloud has upgraded us to version 2.3.6. Please report any issues you experience.
It was 30 seconds.
He injured his leg with ~2-3 mins left in the game - the Tkachuk incident wasn’t where he suffered the initial injury. And then multiple times over those 2-3 mins he was struggling mightily and VERY visibly, every time he went down he was basically unable to get back up. And there were ~2 stoppages in play over those final 2-3 mins where Keefe inexplicably didn’t pull him.

Naw, he had a leg injury and everyone on the ice knew it as he was swimming around at the time and the Leafs were trying to get a freeze to see if he was OK.

Tkachuk knew he was hurting too and gave him that shot KNOWING that. Hard to think of a more gutless POS move in recent memory than that right?
Not hard at all, Tkavhuk got dumped by brodie

Well, that sucks.

Hold your head up high, Hutch. We're going to need you at some point.

The Leafs, focusing on D as they have, will likely make life easier for MH than what he experienced last year.

Get well soon, Jack.

Campbell got injured and didn't come out of ice. Sad to see, but if he is hurt he should go to bench. Now he kept playing and made it worse.

We could also just end up using Woll at some point. That is probably not any better than using Hutch but at least it is a young goalie with upside.

So assuming Campbell returns in March. How many games should Hutch play and which ones?

I would say 6 would be the absolute maximum. 2 back-to-backs, he likely gets one of the Vancouver games in early February and the Calgary game on February 22nd. He might also get one of the two upcoming Edmonton games and one of the EDM games at the end of February/early March.

So I would say at least 4, and at most 6, assuming Campbell is back by the time we play Winnipeg in March.

If we get Keefe Hutchinson and the way the Leafs have been playing thus far, we should be happy with a .500 record out of him, which is not bad from your #3. If the Leafs can be on stride for those games, we may get .750.

February should be a lighter month for us. We're at home for 9/12 games (we stay in the east till the 27th) and only 1 back to back. We also have a 4 day break coming up as well as well as a pair of 2 day breaks. I'd go with Freddy in all but one of the Ottawa back to backs. Hopefully Campbell will be good to go by the Western Canada 5 game trip.

According to my doctor expertise, we’re looking at a 3-4 week timeline.

I’m also kidding about my doctor expertise for all you keyboard warriors! Lol

I hate this. I like Campbell so much and we are losing our chance to rest Freddy more. Goaltending depth was supposed to be an advantage this season but it blew up :(
