Injury Report: Jack Campbell "Out for weeks"

First; and again f*** YOU Tkachuck you pos

Second, Holy hell who is the back now?

Can we find a zamboni driver and win a few games with him in net?

Get well soon Jack we need you bud

So glad we left Campbell in with a clearly injured leg for no reason :/ Dude was in huge pain just trying to stand up, and we left him in for another ~3 minutes, where he really appeared to aggravate it and make it worse. Honestly I have no f***ing clue what Keefe was thinking, even house league coaches know that when your goalie is injured, you take them out of the game. Andersen was healthy and ready to step in to finish off that game.

I’m generally pro-Keefe, but leaving Campbell in with a super clear injury is one of the most boneheaded calls I’ve seen by any Leafs coach, ever. It could have cost us the game, and likely aggravated Campbell’s injury into something worse than necessary. He should own up to his idiocy and publicly apologize.
Yeah, I know the situation was awkward. There wasn't that much time left in the game and they couldn't get a darn stoppable of play when he was clearly hurt. I put it on the officials first for not blowing the play dead and then on Keefe for not getting Andersen in the net. Nothing about that situation is ideal. But the guy was clearly injured and letting him flop around in the net like that was asking for trouble. It's a miracle the Leafs limited the Flames to barely any shots on goal in the first place.

A pretty reckless decision in the short and long term.

What if the player told Keefe he could finish the game? Maybe it wasn't obvious at the time how much he was hurting? I am sure if this happened in the first period, he'd be out of the game.

Tampa is, not going to look up the whole league to find out if there's others. My point isn't about carrying three goalies though, it's having the money to carry enough players that you don't need to waive a player you don't want to lose when injuries inevitably happen. One injury cost us our 3rd string goalie, that's not an acceptable conclusion.

We could have proactively cut a player if you would have preferred that.

I like your feistiness, but what does any Tkachuck (sic) have to do with this?

Tkachuk wasnt the reason for his leg injury was it? Could've swore he injured his leg on a save before the Tkachuk incident

Tampa is an emergency roster exemption

How did he look after Tkachuk jumped on his back?

I'd argue , he looked worse for it.
I'd argue that it's an obvious attempt to injure when you jump on a player who just injured himself but stayed in the game to finish it out. It's also obvious the DPS is about as corrupt and useless as any sports organization out there. Now that they've let the tinder burn, they'll be ready to jump in with suspensions after the fact. The usual.

Hutch is likely only going to get like 4 starts or so. He’ll probably win one or two. Not too big a deal. Hopefully Campbell’s back the last couple weeks of the season so Andy can start the playoffs well rested.

Depending on Andersen, he may have got quite a bit more. It's a no brainer now, we are sinking or swimming with Freddy.

Definitely sucks about Campbell, but at least the Leafs D is better and deeper than last season.

Hutch is capable of putting up close to an average sv%. We just have to hope he does it

I really like Campbell. I hope he gets well soon and gets back in there. Obviously the Leafs wish they’d been able to slip Dell through waivers. But so be it. Now keep the flies off Freddie boys.

Feels like a very Leafy thing to happen less than a week after waiving your 3rd string G, but it's nice we only have 1 back-to-back in February and it's vs. Ottawa. Also have a somewhat prolonged break after this EDM series, so the timing could definitely be worse.

This is very disappointing. I thought there was a decent chance Campbell wrestles the starting job from Freddy, especially with Freddy a pending UFA.

Now it'll be that much trickier to walk away from Fred, without really knowing how much of the load Campbell can carry.

Which valuable forward would you like to extract from this current roster?
Any of the D?

YUP, skimped on the 4th string goalie...DAMN you Dubas
IMO Hutchinson is about as good as it gets for your 3rd goaltender. Having Dell there was an embarrassment of riches, everyone knew we weren't going to keep 3 goalies on the team and everyone knew Dell would get claimed. The timing of everything is the only rhing to be upset about.

Campbell doesn't hold anything against Tkachuck so who are we too but jeez this guy is the swellest goalie leafs have had since Reimer

It seemed like the organization had a pretty good plan to avoid being in this situation and it all went to hell.

Hoping Campbell has a quick recovery - the team needs him badly.
