what about hayes with and without miller?

and i realize this is a miller thread, just curious if this works the same for hayes

it doesn't

Hayes CF% without Miller - 42.6%

Hayes p.60 with Miller - 1.89

without Miller - 1.32

Miller will be key in the playoffs.

Miller
Nash
Kreider
Zucc

Those are the key cogs if they want to do damage in the playoffs.

Hayed and Stepan are the distributors that will have to play solid 2-way hockey throughout at the center position.

Still dont know what we will get from Zibanejad. Too jekyl and hyde to tell.

What we hope Nash to do and what we get realistically are two different things. I am discounting any offense that he may get. Which leaves Kreider & Miller to do the heavy lifting when it comes to goals. Zucc to a lesser degree as far as goal scoring, but not when it comes to facilitating.

It would be nice to have Miller take a major step forward in the playoffs and allow it to be a stepping stone for his future.

Miller should be partnered up with Zibanejad and Hayes should have Zuccarello on his line with Kreider-Stepan still together, that would balance our top-9 imo.

The other wing spots can be whatever kinda, just go with what works.

I probably feel more confident in what Zibanejad will bring than what Hayes will. Hayes looks really out of it sometimes.
Edit: Anyways, I guess my comment has nothing in it about Miller and this IS a Miller thread. So let me say I want to see Miller do what he is capable of, and that is scoring and and that is playmaking. He is becoming a more complete player all the time. We saw that with him this season.

JT. Miller is only 24 though, but he struggles at the moment it seems on his current line.

Hayes and Miller need to create more chances from down low/cycle. Most of their points come off the rush. Not a positive thing if we want them to be key contributers longterm which we obviously do. Think Grabner has been an incredible help for them this season, stretches the other teams and give Hayes/Miller alot of space in the neutral zone and when they are entering the offensive zone.
If Habs clog the neutral zone against us in the playoffs we are done in the first round... Habs have the best goalie, defensemen and best forward. I just dont see us taking that series. Julien knows what he is doing and i think he will clog the neutral zone which slows us down and we will struggle to create scoring chances.

I do not think so. Miller is not what I would term a creative player. I view him as a north/south straight line player. And that is not at all a knock on him. I think we need more players like that.

I would try Miller on the Zib line instead of Vesey, or even swap him with Kreider in an attempt to get JT Miller hot in this playoffs!

Hopefully Zucc can get that Hayes line going - they are the line with most points this regular season - all three players on that line need to be sharper in playoffs! :)
JT was really close to score last night, but Price had a very good save.

Is Miller nursing a bad hand ? The CBC crew showed a bench clip of him the other night with his glove off examining his hand after the fight with Weber . Just wondering if he hurt it or if it was already injured and he did more damage ?

He seems extremely hesitant to shoot the puck.

JT and Hayes both looked much better overall last night. Actually most of our team looked better. AV made a good move switching this lines. I hope he keeps these lines for next game.

anyone who isnt hurt at this time of the year was probably hurt most of the actual year and is just now getting back at it.

JT played all 82 games...im sure hes hurt..this is why AV was a moron for not resting the old defenseman last year.

It's amazing that he played every game, because I swear - I saw him wincing in pain every night this season from blocking a shot or taking a hit.

JT hurt? He looks slow as molasses, no acceleration whatsoever and he's having difficulty creating any seperation. Indecisive and thinking the game half a step slow as well but lack of jump and seperation can cause that when you're looking for an outlet but the D has closed in before you can review options. When he's on he's decided where the puck is going before he receives it. He doesn't look as lost as Hayes but it's close.

99% sure hes got a leg injury...you can see it in his stride.

JT always seems injured more often than not, considering the hits and other beatings he takes over the course of the regular season/playoffs.

I don't know about injuries and such but he's been doing some very questionable things all series long and then he keeps trying them expecting a different result with the same scenario. I can't tell if he's frustrated or just too stubborn to give up on a play and try something else.

he looks like he's been hurt for months, tbth

playing with Dumbvin Haze doesn't help his case
