Severson doesn’t really do anything for us. If we’re trading both Pelech and Pageau it’s for picks and prospects.Severson

Pageau would be a good replacement for Dvorak with the Habs.
Yes he isIs Dvorak the 3rd line center for the Habs? If the answer is yes, then Pageau would be an excellent replacement.
So Islanders if we are asking for Pelech and Pageau with Zero retention and Columbus is willing to part with a 2C prospect that is looking like they are ready for a breakout in the NHL (Luca Del Bel Belluz) what draft picks (or even players) you looking at there.

And most realistically the market for Severson and Pelech is going to be very team dependent. Some teams are going to have great use for Severson in their system and some teams are going to have great use for Pelech in their system (if his health holds up), but the chances of it working as a swap are low.
Yes he is
Another right shot center though. Habs really need left shotPageau would be a good replacement for Dvorak with the Habs.
I wouldn't be surprised if Pageau puts together a nice season for himself in '25-'26.I don't see Pageau being moved. He's not good enough at C anymore (he's better as a winger who takes faceoffs) to have value. On the other hand, NYI need centers.
Pageau's game has really changed, because he just doesn't win battles with pure relentlessness the way he used to.
I’d say the PK decline has more to do with the ineffectiveness of the forwards rather than the Dmen. I’d be remiss not to mention the coaching too.I still to this day don't understand how our PK went from like top 5 in the league to bottom 2 the past few seasons given we basically have the same makeup of players

Okay, so I can check their Puckpedia . . .
Maybe they want Pelech too?
Hmmm,
Pageau with 50% retained
Pelech
for
Jarnkrok
Victor Johansson
Reaves (we'll bury him or buyout)
2026 5th
2027 6th
If they only want Pageau, it would be Johansson and the 2026 5th with $2 million retained
will have to see what Darche's first few weeks on the job look like and if he's keeping Roy around .
Roy loves certain players and JG is one of them - often refering to him as a Guy Carbonneau style of guy but he might realize its best for the organization to get an asset for Pager at some point , preferably at the deadline where gm's do indeed get stupid .
Isles passPageau@50% for 2025 2nd from TOR
And this is why he won' be dealt. Because that offer is about right - JGP has little value at the moment, and the fact that he wasn't traded at the last deadline says a bit about his value to begin this year.Isles pass
