...just in case you missed it, LeBrun reported the Habs were offered a 1st for Anderson (last year, I believe) and declined...but you know more than he does about it, right??...

It's definitely a troll post by the OP. He's not thinking this thru. This thread is odd. OP brings Anderson up in a value thread on the main board, presumably to hear what others feel his value is, only to talk down at them when they don’t offer up the value that the OP thinks he’s worth. This is all opinion based from all fans, including the OP yet anything less than the OP’s perceived value is trolling?!.
I didn't realize he's got three more years on his deal. Yeah... 50% retention over three years too painful for Habs. No way you make a deal for a 3rd in that scenario. My main point was that he's not getting moved until he's a pending UFA (rental) and I'm very very very likely right on that unless his play dramatically improves. $5.5MM is way too much for a mediocre 3rd liner with some pretty wild swings in his production and performances. I suppose he could be moved for an equally bad contract, but those trades are so hard to predict.
Lets just be candid. This Josh Anderson isn't getting traded this year. That's a bad contract and everyone knows it. He's not on anyone's radar for a trade... including the Habs GM. Habs aren't going to retain for that long and no team is going to have any interest in that contract at the full $5.5MM AAV.
You need to settle down and table this Josh Anderson trade business for at least a year and now... very likely two years.
Habs have some pending UFAs... Focus on them. Evans has value for sure. Dvorak will have some at 50% retained. Ditto Savard. You don't have many retention slots do you? If so... the ones you have will go to the pending UFAs.
Nobody is trading a proven young player in a premium position for a rental.Still think that Evans will stay if the contract talks progress. I wouldnt trade Evans for a magic bean at this point. The bean must be a proven bean in a needed spot (Center, RD).
...and yet there's a "Hold my Beer" moment every deadline...don't be shocked if it happens again this year...Nobody is trading a proven young player in a premium position for a rental.
Which proven Young Player has been traded at the deadline lately ?...and yet there's a "Hold my Beer" moment every deadline...don't be shocked if it happens again this year...
It's definitely a troll post by the OP. He's not thinking this thru.
A bad contract like Josh Anderson with 2+ years remaining isn't something NHL GMs are calling the Habs about. And the Habs GM isn't making calls to move Anderson either because he knows they'll go no where.
Habs GM is likely shopping all his pending UFAs because those are the guys much more likely to be traded.
If anything, Anderson is potentially moved in the off-season for a bad contract coming back from another club in a change of scenery swap to see if two under performing players can be reinvigorated.
The potential Ryan Graves for Josh Anderson deal isn't fun to discuss for anyone.
...you mean like Byram...Middlestadt...??...just off the top of my head...Which proven Young Player has been traded at the deadline lately ?
They were traded for each other, not for a rental…...you mean like Byram...Middlestadt...??...just off the top of my head...
...you asked for names...but OK...how about Guentzel??...that fit your ask??...They were traded for each other, not for a rental…
Guentzel was a rental not a Young proven player traded for a rental, how does it match with the discussion ?...you asked for names...but OK...how about Guentzel??...that fit your ask??...

Necas is 26 years old lmao and expires as a UFA....again you just asked for names of Young Players traded at the deadline and there were a few just last year...but OK, now you've set perameters...and it just so happens that the Rantanen - Necas trade of this year fits...again, I just posted that it happens that foolish GMs have traded young proven commodities for UFAs...so don't be surprised if it happens again...
...I never even mentioned Evans or anyone else for that matter; reread my post...I simply stated that every Deadline has a "Hold my Beer" moment so don't be shocked if this Deadline has one as well...read the post instead of inferring what you WANT the post to say...Necas is 26 years old lmao and expires as a UFA.
You have failed to provide a single example that makes even a tiny bit of sense to justify a team giving up a proven young cost controlled asset for 3 months of JAKE EVANS

....NOT what I posted...again, read the entirety of the post...started with a "Hold my Beer" and ended with "don't be shocked if it happens again this year...as in a HOLD MY BEER moment...you INFERRING what you wanted to take out of my post is not the same as what I posted...I read it.
"We MUST get a proven young player (at one of the 2 most valuable positions in hockey) for evans"
"Nobody is giving a proven young player at a premium position"
"Don't be shocked if it happens"

lol that was like 3 years ago...just in case you missed it, LeBrun reported the Habs were offered a 1st for Anderson (last year, I believe) and declined...but you know more than he does about it, right??...
LeBrun is a shill for Hughes. Everyone knows that and here is LeBrun again embarrassing himself for his Habs access.
He’s a 30 point player making $5.5m for 2 years after this one. Habs retain 50% and maybe get a 4th if they find a sucker.
Myers. Not much talk about Anderson trades these days but I can see it picking up, as we get closer to the TDL. Lebrun quote: I do think teams will call the Habs again about Anderson.
No idea how aggressive teams would get but I can see some solid offers being made. Big boy that skates well and can play physical. Seems to have stablized himself in a 3rd line role and a great penalty killer.
