Hell
ummmm.....came on the ice with 1 second left on the PP and played the shift right after the PP.

Seems like a simple explanation.

I like my thought better... How funny would have it been he jumped out realized it was a PP and had to jump back off to avoid a too many men penalty.

Braun jumps out before yeo calls out the line change. Gets two strides onto the ice before AV yells “what the hell are you doing?!?” Braun goes back to the bench and feels shame.

This is definitely 100% what happened.

Hello guys! I have started translating all interviews in the series Знакомимся ближе", from the NHL in Russian site.
Sorry that I am almost a month late, but I think it is still worth it.
The main points from the interview:
  • The interviewer is very impressed that Provorov has an Iron Man streak from the start of his career and averages 23 minutes per night and is ranked 4th in total ice time last season (2059 minutes).
  • Only 26 Russian defenders have more than 100 points in the NHL.
  • The interview was made in Prague, the Czech Republic during the NHL Global series in October.
  • He has a long standing friendship with Travis Konecny #11, which developed after the draft, because they played in different leagues before that.
  • He is asked what must happen for the team to win the Stanley Cup. He says that his team can win the cup and the Flyers must continue to work hard and play with confidence.
  • To the question, who is the most interesting defender for him (from who he can learn the most) - he answers Niklas Lidstrom, also Sergei Gonchar and Sergei Zuvov (he is supposed to say Russian players in this style of interview).
  • When asked about the secret of his wonderful skating - he answers hard work and thanks his father and youth coaches.
  • He is asked how much does he bench press and he tactically does not answer. He says that it is important to be careful about using weights and that approach to lifting is very important.
  • He is asked about his 3 favorite places in Philadelphia. He practically says it's such an amazing city that your eyes wonder constantly in fascination from thing to thing in the city. There is a wonderful choice of everything (he specifically mentions good restaurants, cinemas and theaters.
  • Many times he has been asked if he has seen the famous stairs that Sylvester Stallone runs in Rocky. He says that he has been there and has seen them. He jokes that he hasn't run on them yet.
  • He recommends people to visit the Museum of Art and that it is a wonderful place.
  • What does he like to order in a restaurant? He says that he prefers home cooked food and to eat at home. At a restaurant he would order a piece of meat, potatoes and Caesar salad (I guess he falls in the hockey player - meat / potato or pasta / chicken combo)
  • What concert would he attend without hesitation? He says that he loves rap and techno music. He has already been to an Eminem and a Drake concert and he is very impressed.
  • If he can have a breakfast with anybody he would like to have it with LeBron James. He really likes basketball and his game.
  • He likes driving, but not for long distances and values good company in the car.
  • What does he think about Gritty? At first he was very confused and was wondering what is this creature. But then the fans fell in love with him and eventually everyone started loving him.
  • Is it true that Gritty was made in the image of Jakub Voracek? He says that this was what was believed in the locker room at first, but then this perception left. And now there are 2 great heroes (Voracek and Gritty).
  • When speaking about heroes what is his favorite super hero? He says that there are many, but he would pick Iron Man!!! (so epic, I hope his Iron Man streak continues forever).
That's it guys. When a Russian speaks to Russian media - there are more open answers.
I hope you enyoy! Keep in mind that I am not a professional translator and actually neither English or Russian are my first language.
Again sorry for the lateness!
Good luck and all the best!

As the Flyers grow into 100-110 point team in the future Provy is winning Norris. Could make really good case he is running 2 behind John Carlson this year.

I wonder if his answer will be edited to say “Whiplash” instead of Ironman?

Not our clear or indisputable best. ;)

I have them in tiers because on any given night any one of the three can be our best. I don't think it's smart to name a #1 best, since each have pros and cons. Especially with the insane difference in usage and opportunities, which makes judging almost impossible.

It just so happens that I rate Provorov, Ghost, and Sanheim all on the same tier, then next step down is Niskanen, and so on.

People always misinterpreted that as a knock on Provorov, but it's absolutely not one. I just know how insanely good the other guys are too.

(this post will be almost certainly be wildly misinterpreted too)

Niskanen is better than Sanheim and Ghost. He's been a top dman for years
He may not be as dynamic offensively but an overall dman, he's better

Not surprising. The kid just needed a little bit of help. Its a shame so many people buried him after last year.
Yeah, it almost felt like some people were just waiting for him to finally have a bad year.

That contract is looking like a steal already.

Provorov is the undisputed #1 defenseman on the team at the moment. He still has errors in his game, but thankfully steady eddie is sorting that out.

Really was a brilliant trade by Fletcher to bring him on board.
May be the best trade Fletcher has ever made. Just a brilliant move.
