Player Discussion Ivan Demidov: Welcome to Montreal

lol Sasha sorry, you’re right I should not pee on people’s joy parade.

I figure the summer crowd is a very motherly/ easily enthused one, it’s cute.

.. hard for me to be impressed with these stories though since that time pk ate a cow and gained like 30 one summer gotta admit… ;)
We’re starving in here brother

Practicing in Brossard after his little trip.

This is why I was so thrilled to hear him say Kobe Bryant was his Idol man..

People might think Kobe was this big partier or something but he was NOT
It was like gym at 4am type stuff with him

And you know Ivan read the books so he knows, complete dedication to his craft will take him PLACES baby

I'm so glad we don't have both of them, 2 additional snipers would be illegal in Montreal. Can't have that.
Sigh.. imagine MichDemidov on the PP with Cole and Nick...
That's not how you build a winning team. This is not NHL 2025 on Playstation...
Who will be in front of the net ?! You can't just throw names out there and think it will be fine, it's not how it works. Players have different roles on the PP. You don't need 2 snipers, doing the same job, it's redundant.

I'm sorry for you, but Cole Caufield would be the odd man out in that PP.
You don't need Michkov AND Caufield.

The PP would be better with Slafkovsky instead of Caufield for board battles and net presence guaranteed.

Suzuki(left circle) - Slafkovsky (net presence) - Demidov(right circle)

Hutson(left point) - Michkov (right point for the onetimer possibilities)

If Michkov played for the Habs, you trade Caufield for a 2C or a #2/3 RH defenceman...

Geezz... some people obviously lives in a fantasy world...

Yeah. We could be just like the Leafs.
leafs have no goaltending, but nice try. Also, I don't see what the big deal is they lost to the cup champs, people are so insane with their hottakes. Its not like they lost to the Sens

The best part is that this type of behaviour is often contagious and so one guy wanting to put in all that work brings others along and before long most of the team is going that extra mile.

Not sure what is sarcasm and what isn't, hard to tell sometimes by just typed text.

But if we had Michkov, I would trade Caufield. He's too important for the culture. I'd look ffg or a 2c still this summer, and trade Laine. The top 6 would be set.

Cc - Suzuki - Slaf
Michkov - 2c - Demidov

But I'm excited by Reinbacher if he can stay healthy.

Kobe. In Basket. CR7. In soccer

That's the best idols you can have.

Goats. Workaholics. Great role models. Etc.

Working on shot mechanics. That ipad on the tri-pod will be used to slow every single movement down and learn from. Nice sign!

Unrelated to Demidov but the IPad is a weird choice for high FPS videos. The Habs are a wealthy franchise, they can get an A7SIII and film1080p 240fps

For me the main reason I am hopeful is that he has a girlfriend already. No useless off ice distraction at bar or clubs like it happened for us with other top prospects. If he is determined and focused with his natural talent we will have a gem.

During all the Shanahan years, Leafs winning percentage is 650. Goaltending also matters in the regular season. They’ve had absolutely zero playoff success. Not even a good run. That has to be some type of record between the two over such a long period.

Reality is Shanahan built them from the ground up to win the President’s Trophy only. Adding Cooley or Michkov to the Leafs wouldn’t have put them over the top in the playoffs, it would have made them even worse. You would get the same result as adding Newhook.

I hear Heinemann was practicing cross-overs last week but is not getting as much love for some reason in his thread.

Kidding of course, but work ethic is definitely not lacking it seems on the habs; I would say vets like Gally and Anderson are great examples. Gally literally changed his body/game at 33... Then you see younger vets like Caufield and Suzuki who seem as engaged as it comes. Kids like Hutson, Slaf and Guhle come off as tireless and super focused as well. Demidov will fit right in..

As long as his girlfriend doesn't assault him like Galchenyuk's girlfriend? lol

Papa Slaf

I think it was a weird comment by that twitter nerd, but 'come say that to my face bro' is a bit of an overreaction by Slaf Sr. considering all the garbage that is spewed against Slaf from leafs fans.

Edit : After reading the thread a bit, I feel like dad just saw a bunch of twitter virgins getting offended by that tweet and got riled up.

Like this would've warranted that response :

No, Slaf's dad responsed to a tweet that has since been deleted. That tweet was as bad as the one you posted.
