Player Discussion Ivan Demidov: Welcome to Montreal

Two passes he made

Two

Showed so much

One was to Suzuki in the first period, Suzuki had the open net but did not expect to get the puck and just mishandled

He now needs to add muscle mass, make this his priority

Getting Demidov some playoff experience should be regarded as one of the major accomplishments this season.

He made rapid adjustments to the increased physicality of the games, and will probably be fully prepared the next time he gets such an opportunity.
Dude
This series, just sealed the Calder for Demidov next year.
And that's NO joke

It was invaluable getting in and getting this experience for the kids, ESPECIALLY the 19 year old phenom who arrived out of NOwhere

He really started to look like a veteran instead of a 19-year old kid with a handful of NHL games. Didn't really worry about him being on the ice at all, from a defense perspective.

1st Line next year right from the get go please

Our biggest problem with Demidov would be finding someone who can keep up with him. I feel like that's going to be Michael Hage but he's still years away.

Suzuki and Cole can play with him

It will be easier to find a 2x top 6 forwards who could play with Slaf.

Donato should be an easy target, 29 years old, scored 62 pts with 16 mins of ice time, perfect 2nd liner, only 14 pts on the PP, excellent 5vs5 player.

Demidov would be a superstar at the very least. Incredible talent.
2 things he needs to work on this summer.

1. Put up some weight/muscle. He got pushed away a bit too easily on some occasion.

2. His skating. His full speed is fine but I find his acceleration to be a bit slow. If he could separate from the defender, it would bring his game to another level even.

He just needs a full summer in Montreal. Play some preseason games. It's very tough to come to a new, different country and join a team this late in the season+playoffs in his 3rd NHL game.
