Thrun
Mukhamadulin

And a pair of top centers:

Celebrini
Smith

They would likely trade the 1st overall pick for an elite RW combo player who could play alongside Celebrini for 10-12 years.

No way. I see them as the least likely. They need a true #1d man. The best prospect in the draft is a great defensive prospect. Best d man prospect since Dahlin imo.

None are likely to become a #1D and Thrun hasn't shown he will end up staying long term. I'd be shocked if they pass up Schaefer.

Wtf are you on about? He started the playoffs as the 13th forward and ended up as SKA's mvp according to his coach, even got 2 goals called off. C'mon I'm sure you can try a little harder than that.

When referring to 1st OA you are not talking about an individual player. It's referring to having the option to pick between 500 players, 1st. And these are all prospects at different stages of their development. Maybe the team picking 1st OA views Demidov as the better player right now, but views a draftee as a player that has a higher ceiling, fits a need or wants the PR of picking first.

It's not a black/white "Demigod is better, here's why".
