I see a Denis Potvin, a Rasmus Dahlin, and a whole lot of ehhhhhhhhh as far as 1OA picks go. (sorted by career PPG)

Except that Schaefer is not as good as Lidstorm and Demidov is a more valuable player over all than Marner.I’ll take a 2 way Nick Lindstrom type dman over a Mitch Marner
I would guess that both Chicago and Columbus wish they found a way to make that trade work, given Lindstrom's injury status so far and Demidov's play post draft. (assuming he was who they were after) It seems like one of those trades that would have been win-win compared to the reality both teams are in by not making it.
No it's not.Wow, have you compared their utilization? One is basically playing 4th line minutes and has seen 10+ games of 5 minutes of less. Your argument is completely bias and lopsided.
Celebrini is good but Demidov should've been 1st overall last year and would easily be this year. The number of teams scared of drafting Russians just blows my mind. Still can't believe both Michkov and Demidov fell like they did.
I’m saying your argument was bias based on a few things you left out. I agree that until demidov plays in the NHL there really isn’t an argument. But, you quoted both of the players PPG in their respective leagues without any context and then said the NHL is better than the KHL. So, what would numbers even matter In your argument anyway? No it's not.
Until you have proved yourself in the best league in the world, you haven't. Celebrini has. Just ask fringe NHLer and 6 time KHL All-Star Nigel Dawes.
There is not a hockey executive in the world that would value Demidov over Celebrini.
Sure, I could have left out Demidovs numbers but I don't think my argument is bias based. Celebrini is establishing himself as a star in the NHL. The fact that he is out producing Demidov in a FAR superior league is just icing.I’m saying your argument was bias based on a few things you left out. WTF? Demidov MIGHT one day be better then Marner. Maybe but not likely.Except that Schaefer is not as good as Lidstorm and Demidov is a more valuable player over all than Marner.
That's all cool and dandy but does he speak French?Yeah, check out all of their faces in this video....they're in love with him.
They ain't trading him.
A player this charismatic and with this much talent in Montreal is pretty much untouchable.

The numbers can have alot of context. Not just playing time, but also linemates, zone starts & QoC. However actual production matters alot. But it's all un necessary for the argument.
In the KHL...which is not even close to the NHL.
You are comparing apples to...something much shittier than apples.
Lol Demidov isn’t even 2 pts per game in KHL. If Bedard was in KHL right now he’d have over 100 points in 40 GP easyExcept that Schaefer is not as good as Lidstorm and Demidov is a more valuable player over all than Marner.
Out of all the Dmen picked 1OA, where do you see him? Best ever?Because he’s is just clearly has the higher upside
I remember my first beerLol Demidov isn’t even 2 pts per game in KHL. If Bedard was in KHL right now he’d have over 100 points in 40 GP easy
you don't know that.Lol Demidov isn’t even 2 pts per game in KHL. If Bedard was in KHL right now he’d have over 100 points in 40 GP easy
you don't know that. you hope he willThe KHL is one of the closest league to the NHL. But yes, there is a difference with time/space and physicality. I don't agree with how you tried to stretch it beyond more than what it is though. Exaggeration to prove a point is weak context.
Demidov is going to be an offensive juggernaut. Very high grades in skill, skating, size, hockey IQ, and will power to overcome challenges. Very difficult to nit pick his flaws.
Not sure where he goes if were to do redraft in about 2 or 3 years time but I suspect it's going to be 1, 2, or 3.
Only thing I would say is maybe position based. #1 D vs #1 Wing?
Demidov ice time was blocked because they were trying to influence him to sign and stay. He's forced them to give him more ice time as the season went along by working hard and producing with the time he got.
Is there any reason Demidov's ice time was blocked but other's not? Carolina's Nikishin is leaving and he was named captain. Afaik Gritsuk will also leave for NJ. He's being played.
Demidov is not getting traded unless it's a gross overpayment and the 1OA this year isn't doing it.This highly skilled stud muffin was drafted 5OA and so far has justified that ranking, and then some. How much would a team be willing to shell out for one of, if not the, most prized asset not currently in the NHL?
Would a team drafting 1OA in 2025 do a one for one swap?

Nikishin signed a contract with SKA when he was about Demidov age and gave years to SKA. Demidov so far isn't doing that.Is there any reason Demidov's ice time was blocked but other's not? I agree with a lot of what you habs fans are saying except this caufield stuff. Caufield is still yet to come anywhere close to what a lot of Habs fans thought he would be. Maybe he finally gets close this year. He is on pace to.100% agree. Habs have been on the guilty side of pumping up prospects over the years but that pretty much applied to when our pool was thin. That typically happens to all fan bases who have thin pools. A lot of reaching going on but fans think it's only the Habs. Complete BS
Today, the Habs have every right to be gullible to what Demidov is doing in the KHL. This will be another Caufield and Hutson where fans laugh and devalue but it's just wrong with a lot of ignorance.
Demidov will be a star and he's coming to Montreal with talent to work with.

Hutson definitely looks the part so far.
Remains to be seen what Demidov will be in the NHL. Sky is the limit. Don’t see many people throwing shade on his potential but instead at the forgone conclusion that he will hit it.
