You think Demidov was way ahead of Sennecke last year and that gap has gotten smaller?
Wow...okay.
Rankings do shift post draft though. It would be naive to think that they shift so much in the 6 months leading up to the draft but then hold their places post draft.
Demidov at this point is a clear #2 behind Macklin from 2024. There is no one in 2025 I would take ahead of either Macklin or Demidov at this point. Schaefer is my favorite, but I would but him third behind Celebrini and Demidov.

I expected Demidov to be an elite offense weapon, he is an elite offensive weapon. Any reasons to not draft him (small offensive winger) have not gone away, nor has he vastly exceeded my expectations.
Sennecke has so far exploded.
If I had Sennecke higher before like the ducks did, nothing since then would change that.
Do I expect a team that didn't draft Demidov when he was a small, elite offensive winger, to now change their mind as Demidov has shown he is a, checks, notes, small elite offensive winger? No.

The reason I ask...is the average size of an NHL player is 6'1 and around 189 lbs.
Average for a forward is slightly smaller at 6'0.5".

I would say he is not a small forward but actually right in the middle. Neither a big boy or a small boy. Also....as a recently turned 19 year old....he could push to 6'1 still and it would not be out of the question to add 3-5 pounds to skate around 198.
So factually....your assessment is off.

There are 4 guys on SKA averaging more P/G than Demidov.
SKA pots a ridiculous 9.5 points a night (for a comparison HC sochi was at 6 last year).
If you think what Demidov is doing makes him comparable to what Kuzy, Ovi, or Malkin was idk what to tell you (again, note, all CENTERS).
If you want to try about Ovi or Malkin, just no.
And if you think what Demidov is currently doing is more impressive than lockout Kuzy being 6th in the league in points (a league filled with a bunch of NHLers in their primes)

Kucherov, Marner, Konecny, Panarin, Kaprizov, Jesper Bratt are all smaller than Demidov and Pasternak and Kyle Connor are the same height as him. And i'm only counting wingers, not even centers. He's not small at all.

SKA has ridiculous offensive firepower.
The parity in the NHL and the parity in the KHL are VERY, VERY different.
There are a number of young players to have put up similar PPG numbers, often without a ton of help.

You evidently weren't following the scouting discourse too closely. Demidov hadn't scored in brief KHL and VHL action over the years and you sometimes heard the usual "plays like a junior player" critique. He's pretty much annihilated that concern. No, the people saying that were not expecting him to score 4 P/60 in the KHL this year. Instead he is the one that makes the KHL look like a junior league.

-Their 2c is way better than ur 1c
-Their young top pairing rd is in the ahl because they are full of top rd
-They have a better Hutson in Casey, which is in the ahl because their ld are too good
- Hughes is a norris caliber dman
-We play Xhekaj, who's the worst dman in the nhl and take plenty of penalty
- We play Guhle on the pk, and he's not good at it because ur pk wasn't good
- Caufield and Suzuki arent goot 5v5 players. They aren't good on the pp either, since ur pp wasn't good

Mathew Schaffer really impressed me. I haven’t seen him outside of the small sample size for Canada at the WJC and haven’t seen much of Demeidov but if you asked 100 leafs fans on who you’d prefer between demidov and Mathew I think 90% would take Schaffer

Call me gullible or crazy but I choose Demidov. I really like how he has forced SKA to play him more and he passes my eye test! He just has the "it factor" like Hutson and Caufield. He's putting up numbers very similar to Kaprisov and does not have the same amount of PP time.
Each draft year has a disappointment in the top 5. I value D+1 more than their draft year. Demidov was the steal of the draft and should have been neck/neck with Celebrini but the Russian factor affected it.

I initially thought you were playing hard line devil's advocate for Hutson but now see that you're just a pure troll misusing statistics.
Demidov has done nothing but raise his stock n-fold from when he was drafted.
...shocking that a Leaf fan, whom admittedly knows nothing of both kids, would just take the non-Habs draft pick...maybe we need to change our thought process of going with the kid who's just a few points away from breaking Kaprizov's rookie record in the KHL and just ask 100 Leaf fans...
...yup...must be why all those Cups are piling up soo high...
