Those KHL contracts are scaring teams away. Michkov the year before, Demidov last year. The KHL is becoming more of a pain in the ass then it’s worth for teams so it’s not surprising teams that can’t afford to take a gamble in the top 5 and want to move past them. We’re hopefully going to be the beneficiary of that.I still can't believe Chicago passed over Demidov, if not just to make Bedard a 'little' happy and giving him someone to play with. This 'you need to take a RHD at all cost' has gotten out of hand.
