To me, both Goalchenyuk and Kotkaniemi were promised to get a good NHL career. Skills were there, but they never reached their potential because of nightlife, arrogance, no efforts to work on their game. These kinds of behaviours are less predictable
I think Demidov is a clear notch above. Galchenyuk was talented but his defensive game and commitment were subpar. Jesperi Kotkaniemi was just not good enough to become a top 6 player, he has decent hockey sense and size but his skating, shot and offensive abilities were not incredible. Demidov is more fluid of a skater than both, superior hands, hockey sense and very active defensively and at applying pressure to the defenseman. My slight 'worry' if I am being extremely nitpicky, it's his shot, very good but maybe not elite like a Caufield or a Laine.

They were both below average skaters without high IQ's and had poor attitudes.......

Fast forward to October already, I want to see him with Laine and Dach.

And Marty better no play stupid games and wait until December to put him on PP1. :fight:

KHL team SKA is not in a good space right now from the sound of it.They just released Tony DeAngelo, and there are rumours swirling around about Roman Rotenberg’s resignation as head coach. The team sits in seventh place in their conference.

The team also filed a protest with the KHL and the Ministry of Sport because fans of other teams started chanting mean things at them like “SKA is the shame of Russian hockey”. Lokomotiv was fined by the KHL for its fans’ taunting of the army team.

Spartak fans chanted “SKA is the disgrace of Russian hockey” earlier in the season, which sent Rotenberg into a frenzy.SKA is claiming that there is media-led PR campaign against the team management and coaches. “

WOW haha good read ty,
I like the part where Rotenberg might resign and where other teams are taunting SKA, I tought the protest would have been players against Rotenberg, but since its Russia its just one more ridiculous thing over another, SKA protesting against the league for bad partizanship LOL, total russian scums mentality "like us or we protest"

The majority of leagues and sport federations have rules against inappropriate anti-team behaviors from partisans. But it's usually to counter racism and vandalism.

I can already imagine RR promoting himself to GM as a way to "resign"

Wouldn't it be something if we go back to back on Calder winners?

Hutson this year -- Demi next year

There is a good possibility of that happening!

In the Habs history, we didn't had two back to back of Calder winners... It'll be the first time in Habs history if it happens!

In the Bruins history, they had two back to back Calder winners. Orr. Sanderson. From 1966 to 1968.

In the Leafs history, they had three back to back Calder winners. Stewart. Bodnar. McCool. From 1942 to 1945.
