Just for the fum of it.....Yesterday I wrote that I would not trade a 19 years old Demidov for a soon 30 years old Mackinnon one on one because of the age factor and few people laughed at me.
.i stand by it...and ai would not trade a 28 years old player no matter who .(.Mcdavid..)for a great 19 years old prospect...

In the short term ( 3- 4 years obviously) I prefer by far Mack and Mcdavid....I am not crazy but the fact that we have the chance to have Demidov for 12 years at a great level....

Holly cow. Talk about over hyping a prospect. I fear that if Demidov doesn't walk on water when he arrives, many here will quickly turn on him. Such is the nature of much of our fan base.

For us I'd take Demidov over 1 OA this draft all day long.

Demidov had insane pedigree going into last draft, but there were questions about if he was only dominating the MHL due to the strength of the league. We now see him being arguably the most talented player in arguably the 2nd best league on the planet at 19 years old.

If a teams hard up for defense, then I could see them leaning Schaefer over Demidov. But where we are I'm taking the potential franchise winger that's having an exceptional D+1.

kinda crazy to make this type of thread. Celebrini is a elite two way center in the league. Close to PPG at his first season in one of the worst team in the league......

Like come on, I love Demidov. But it is absurd to make this type of thread after one season. Especially after Celebrini is having a crazy good first season in the NHL.

Bedard is so bad defensively and if he was playing for mtl in 2012 with MT as his coach, he'll be playing on the fourth line and be skipping games to learn rispek

Prior to the draft I had said Michkov is 1b with Bedard and I think Demidov is clearly a better player than Michkov so take that as you will

if thats the case than i agree with but i think Demidov is generational on some aspects of his game and could very well develop into a McDavid type of player or better, maybe.

I would argue that all 3 of Bedard, Michkov, and Demidov have a very high floor, but only Demidov and Bedard have superstar potential, and none of the 3 are generational. I still think Demidov will be the best of the three, but expecting Demidov to be better than McDavid is beyond insane.

Bedard might have been the most exceptional Junior player ever. He has tools that are maximized against players that level. I think that’s where he was considered generational. While he’s a star, he seems to have had a bit more difficulty transitioning to the NHL than other “generational” players who also killed Juniors like Lemieux, Crosby and McDavid.

I thought I was Vanya’s biggest supporter but I’m not even remotely close

I think the Bedard generational talk was mainly due to Americans going so high in the draft, Canadian media couldn’t handle it

He's 4th all time for u20 scoring behind Bure, Reichel and Forsberg and in front of Tikkanen and Mogilny. He did 20 points in 7 playoffs game in 2022-23 (the fact his team still lost is quite laughable btw). He's 10th all time for ppg in whl. He's number 1 for ppg in whl for players born after 1970. If it doesn't say generational to you then what is?
