High level of emotion- Rangers played a great 1st period. The goal allowed was a bit lucky. Rangers really dominated Pens. Kreider with great 1st 2 periods.
Lines 1-4 all played solidly and the key was frustrating Pens "Key4" : Crosby, Malkin, Neal, Kunitz. Pens star players spent a good 2/3 of the game chasing Ranger players initiating after whistle contact or just dirty cheap plays instead of trying to use skill to outmatch Rangers. I think this is a good way to distract Pens from their game.
Our defense was fantastic. Hank superb.
PP looked better but we made some very lazy transition zone passes that led to scoring opportunities for Pens- Im sure that will be addressed. I think one reason Pens have been very successful against our PP is because their PK unit stands up on their bluezone as Rangers attempt to enter-makes it difficult for rangers to set a play. Further, Pens see our use of Richards on PP point as an opportunity to push forward for short-hand scoring plays. Just one thing i noticed.

Let's win G7- I think the team has the mo.

If it wasn't for the MSL incident we'd be playing golf by now, and that's not a joke.

This team still sucks. Can't get the power play going. Nash needs to be traded. So many players didn't show up.

And with that negativity, Game 7 is in the bag!

Wow that was satisfying. It's crazy how much of a gutless puke Crosby is.

I remember the series when the guy at MSG showed up wearing scuba gear because Sid was such a diver. Who is going to figure out a costume for 'ebenezer the ball squeezer?' What an amazing legacy that dope is going to leave in the nhl.

Ehh, Lemieux was a whiner too but people have forgotten all about that. Not saying Crosby is as good as Lemieux, but still.

They asked lundqvist what he thinks about Pittsburg.... and he said he does care about them real quick cutting off the question lol lundqvist is pumped

But please, tell me that Hank isn't a big game goalie one more time.

Also, Nash was hitting opposing players tonight.. I don't understand. Is he feeling okay?

I'm not as concerned about Crosby's whining and diving as I am with his propensity for slewfooting. Girardi could have been injured, and those dick refs did not call it. Why doesn't somebody show the league the play and ask them how it happens that the whistle did not blow. It's not like the play was way back in the other end behind the play.

Zucc got called pretty quickly on his transgression, granted he was front and centre, but still.

Nash has been a lot more physical. His play is not the problem at all. It's 100% his finishing. If he had burried 5 of his shots this playoffs we would be talking about how he's our best player. Nash's game seems to revolve around creating chances. He's not a great finisher but of the chances he creates, he usually gets a bunch to go in. His goals come from creating chances over and over and hurrying some of them, not really elite finishing ability. At least that's my take on Rick and his game.

He looked like he was trying today. He didn't make many great plays on the net, but he did back check nicely when he was on and I saw at least 3-4 BIG hits by him.

Kreider really took leaps and bounds to improve his game since coming over here. He's becoming a truly amazing player for us. Strong as hell, takes the body, quickest player on the team, doesn't even bat an eye in a big game situation, and can put up points. This guy is the real deal for us. Expecting he'll be a 60+ point player for many years here.

Unless we trade him for Iginla or something.

Are Penguins fans and supporters really happy with the effort from Crosby? It's like he just rolls over when he meets resistance.

In live in canada. Everyone defends Crosby cause he's Canadian. They crap on Malkin since he's Russian but atleast he's shown up

Rangers showing heart . Gotta be proud

I'm still latching onto Kreider becoming Pacioretty-esque for us. I've always thought that was the best comparison to his ceiling.

We'll trade him and our 2016 1st for Marleau.

Despite Nash's poor offensive efforts, he's actually been a solid defensive contributor. He seems like he might have it in him to be a decent 2 way guy.

Problem is, you have to consider salary cap in everything. And at a $7.8mm hit, a solid 2 way guy will never be good enough.

Two things.

1.) people have a tendency to forget that Nash has really really excelled in a defensive role at the Olympics. Difference is that those teams rely on other players to score. His defensive ability is usually very underrated.

2.) players don't get paid in the playoffs. I couldn't give a damn about his cap hit right now. What I do care about is untapped potential.

I feel like Malkin is better than Crosby. Every time I watch the pens, I never notice Crosby. I mean yea he racks up points and has some highlight feel plays, but every time I watch Malkin he's just a beast. He is a total game breaker. Maybe he doesn't get the points but I feel like he puts the team on his back a lot more.

Not saying Crosby is a bad player at all, absolutely one of the best in the world. If I had to pick one though, I chose Malkin every time.

Said it a million times but Geno scares me a lot more than Sid.

I'm confused. I was told the season was over on Wednesday, but then I come here and apparently they've won 2 games since then???!!! What gives?

Kreider really got ripped off on that called back goal/penalty. Taking the puck hard to--he managed to get the shot off as he was being driven into Fleury by Letang. It was a great play.
