If Kreider and Nash flanking Stepan doesn't really get him going I don't know what will.

They all had great games last night. Having Nash on that RW makes them truly dominant. Remember all the problems the Penner-Getzlaf-Perry line gave us? We've got our own version of them.

Their play has been very encouraging.

Stepan isnt Getzlaf

I support this line change, Step with two big wingers sounds good.

Zucc is definitely a top 6 player, but there simply isn't room for him right now. Maybe he should replace Callahan if that line doesn't produce, but of course the captain wouldn't like 3rd line duty.

Callahan doesnt deserve top 6 minutes. 3rd line yeah

A little biased being Norwegian, but do you guys still doubt zucca as a top 6 player?

Since he was a healthy scratch Zucca has 16 points in 20 games(only 15 other players in the nhl have better production during the same period of time)

In the same timeframe he has 12 assist(only 7 other players in the nhl have more).

He does not belong in the NHL. He is tiny small, weak & soft, dangles far too much, has no grit or JAM, does not fight and is €uropean. Plus his shot sux. Period. :sarcasm:
Said "nobody in their right mind" - but silently agreed upon by plenty of WWF subscribing GI Joe collectors here on the boards.

"But he has no points vs big strong teams so therefore all his points does not matter".

Since scratch he's produced at a pace that will bring him to 60p for the season if he keeps it up. Its a little bit sad that no one aknowledges the steps he's taken since last season. Without a condecending "But, he does not belong here, really - a prospect will take his place hopefully".

first line still together with Kreider, Stepan and Nash.

4th line or 3rd however you want to view it as Boyle, Moore, Dorsett again

Zuccarello with Richards and Callahan

Poor Brassard and Hagelin with Pyatt. Pouliott a scratch likely.

They should think about calling up say Kristo eventually

Keeping it up is obviously key here, though, isn't it? When he produces offensively he's definitely a useful player. He's improved in other areas, but he still doesn't bring much if he isn't scoring.

Brassard was playing at a point per game level for 25 games last season, and now he's right back to inconsistency.

You're absolutely right. Except he brings a lot of main assists :p

I know we frown when people mention small sample sizes, but this has to be pretty big for the guy.

The first line is fine, im glad zucc is in the top 6 since he has earned it. We really need richards and callahan to get out of this funk they are in. I hop cally's goal last night ignites his offense a little

The only line that seems to be working is any line with Zucc inserted...

We NEED to give Richards minutes to Brassard and try him with Nash. Brassard has 9 points in his last 10 games while Richards has 3 playing more often. Nash has not played well with Stepan and Kreider and could use a new linemate. I'm thinking you keep Brassard and Pouliot together since they've played well together lately. Would consider sitting Richards for Miller for a game, too. I'm thinking:

Pouliot-Brassard-Nash
Hagelin-Stepan-Zuke
Kreider-Richards-Callahan
Boyle-D. Moore-"tough guy"

I like the top 2 just fine. But it seems like richards just drains all energy out of whoever he's on lines with. And we really need energy from Kreider and Cally. We cant have richie dragging them down with him.

Theres is just a chronic problem with finishing. Zuc. Pouliot, Hags and Kreider are the only guys with a +10 shot%. which is really sad.

they should reunite kreider-stepan-zucc line. Even though stepan has had a brutal year that was the only time when he seemed a least decent

I agree that it seems like Richards holds down lines when he's playing center. I think he'd be good if we moved him to the wing, he had success there earlier this year... but we already have a ton of wings and it would open a hole at center. I'd like to see a Kreider-Miller-Callahan third line that could control the puck and chip in some hard work goals... but then you're left with five guys for four wing slots on the top two lines. Nash and Zukes are locks, but then you have Pouliot, Richards, and Hagelin.

Trading Callahan for a prospect and then moving Richards to wing could be a move we should consider. The only way to move Richards out of the lineup is via buy-out at the end of the season, sadly. Trading the captain isn't something we'll gamble doing either, I'd bet, so we're kind of stuck with using Richards at center. Unless we move Hagelin, Kreider, or Zukes (BAD IDEA).
