Is no one kind of tempted to put Bunting back in? It bumps Kerfoot down to the 4th line and off the second PP... Bunting is a good player if he can stay away from distractions... not sure I'd do it, but it is tempting. The top 9 gets a lot better.

We're definitely a better team with him. He will take the place of ZAR or Lafferty. He has to stay disciplined though and obviously he's fully aware of the consequences if he doesn't.

Rewatching the third I realised I hadn't noticed how calm the Leafs celebrations were because I was not calm.

Except for the OT winner and even that was subdued, it feels like the Leafs have a bigger goal in mind.

Encouraging

Bunting is a liability. We don't want to be killing penalties because of his stupidity. Tampa cannot goad Bunting into taking dumbass penalties if he isn't playng
Exactly, also why mess with a winning lineup.
I really hope Keefe learnt his lesson from the Habs series, he switched Sandin in for Dermott while leading the Series 3-1 in Game 5.

Nobody thinks higher of Cooley than me, but he's basically a clone of Barzal, who is one of the hardest players to play with in the league. And again you're treating this like stars don't come out of nowhere all the time based on perceived flaws and development. You think people knew Benn would be a star in junior? Pavelski? Where did Verhaege come from? Points aren't everything man, and it's pretty clear your only evidence of your opinion is "Knies didn't score enough points so he's automatically not going to be a star". Development isn't linear, and he's still growing into his abilities. If his vision improves (already has leaps and bounds since his d0) there's no real hurdles.

His skill is way higher than Kreiders, but his skating is also far behind. They play similar roles and imo could have similar impacts, but they play completely different styles. Both struggle with vision at times too. Knies goes through you, Kreider goes around you is about as simple as i can make it. He's like JVR because stylistically they attack you the same way and have similar strengths/weaknesses. Big difference is people always clamored for JVR to be more physical, which Knies is. JvR also improved a bunch when he found his role.
I also believe that the player was in contact with Leaf's development staff who try to get players focused on a complete two way game. His point totals may not reflect his overall progress and development.

I did. After the game in the stands with his family.

Said I wished he was a leaf and I was a fan since he was in London. My boy wanted to get his signature but I said no… he’s probably not in the best mood.
He could have been a few summers ago. We chose Simmonds over Perry. Gotta admit, I thought he was washed up. I know we collectively hate him, but man is that guy a gamer.

reliving that game in every capacity today. Truly one of the most special wins I can ever recall in my 32 years of life. Not that there have been many to choose from lol. But man was that not a game of inches.

-Knies pulling a sure goal off of the goaline in the 2nd period
-Matthews first goal just barely misses the outstretched Vasy's stick and blocking arm. If it even touches any part of Vasy's stick who knows where that puck goes. Probably into the corner knowing our historical luck
-Sammy stopping the 2 on 1 at the end of regulation and then getting a favorable bounce off his paddle instead of his skate when Killer threw it back at the net. How many times have we seen that go in
-Kerfoot's redirection hits the post and goes in net instead of bouncing out

I know bounces happen to both teams throughout every game, and some days you seem to get more than others. But my god, it just feels like we have someone looking out for us right now!

Maybe its King Borje!!

Who knows, all I can say is I am still in shock to be on the other end of one of these games. It feels so much better than the very well known alternative

Okay, they haven't won the Stanley Cup since then, but overall they've been more successful than almost any team in the league in both the regular season and playoffs. They've been to game six and seven of the finals and they advance more years than they don't. It's okay to give credit where it's due...
Funny that at TDL I thought that we brought in players that B’s would normally bring and then go far in PO. It’s almost like our spies stollen secret B’s targets plan and beat them to the line. Lol
And yes. Boston is team to beat this year. However, I hope we concentrate on finishing our business and then deal with that next.

It's more that we took Simmonds and then months later Perry became an option for a role we had already filled. He's really turned the back end of his career around after looking completely done prior. Still a dirtbag though.

Here's the game. It was 4-1. But the leaf comeback started midway through the 2nd. So maybe not as dramatic.

I'm sure nothing in team history tops the comeback against Columbus so if we're looking for a historical example to rival last night, we have to at least say that the preliminary round in the bubble didn't count as real playoffs.

So I think this game from 1993 is the closest to last night in 30 years, but I don't know yet if there's been anything else comparable
Leafs down three games to none in the finals, and trailing 2-0 in game 4.

Won the game, won the next three.

Only time ever in the finals.
