I thought it was a B until the last move. That now changes to a F.

I've kinda been a Sweeny apologist compared to most people, but no more. Trading your captain who's coming off some major surgeries last off season? The hard working, leader of your team who has REPEATEDLY taken hometown discounts? Offering him less than elias lindholm?

All that for a potential 2nd or 1st?

I don't like it. Ive lost interest in the team for now unfortunately

I vacillated between A- and B+ and went with the latter, perhaps because they couldn't come to terms with Marchand and he ended up in Panthers gear. I have nothing but good things to say about all the guys who were traded away, but the moves were called for with the team spinning its wheels this season. If, somehow, they survive in the wild card chase to the last week, I'll be delighted. The Bruins have not entered a game as an eliminated team since 2007.

Looking back at that deal and it was just a masterful job. Grand Larceny. I would have been happy with Zellers and a 2 to be honest. Mittelstedt has a load of talent. You will need to take the lapses but he will give them a true playmaker. Zellers tearing up the USHL and headed to my beloved UND where he will get some good coaching. The 2nd will be a top 60 pick more than likely so that's pretty nice as well.

Oddly enough, Zellers was originally committed to BU but switched to UND, not sure why but that happens, good for him, and he is from Maple Grove, Minnesota. He'll be much closer to home playing for the Fighting Sioux(yes, I said it).

I voted B

I gave Sweeney some flack and I am one of his biggest critics but he went the right way and did get a great return at the trade deadline. He identified the right players to move on (except Marchand). I think he said in the presser that they didn´t plan to move Carlo, Coyle and Marchand in the morning and because of this I think he lucked out a bit to do the right thing because teams pushed for them and offered big pieces. The Marchand trade was the worst one but it was because of the circumstances (injury, Marchy chosing his destination) and we already have been on the other side (Hall from Buffalo) regards the return when your player only want to go to one team but still when you trade your franchise legend, who is a heart and soul guy and proven playoff performer you have come to away with more then a conditional first round pick. Personally I was fully behind trading Marchand but with the return coming back I am leaning towards that his value for team would have been higher with him staying. The Carlo and Coyle returns are great. Sweeney got Coyle´s summer trade value in return and when you can get a surfire NHL player prospect in Minten and a first for the Carlo in 2025 you take it and run. Personally I think Carlo, Frederic and Coyle were the commanders of the lull company so I am very happy Sweeney traded them and with the return he got. I think the two games since showed already that the team already has another intensitiy and spark behind them.
