78-6 NYR

Brett Howden (50)
Brady Skjei (26)
Chris Kreider (2)

LGR!!! Let’s turn this season around!!!
You Hughes you lose!!
Let’s sneak into the playoffs!!!!

Howden's true breakout performance.

Skjei 26 goals? More like 26 rushes that result in rushes the other way.

I have missed these predictions, though.

I want to see the Rangers lose 7-0 just to see what type of flim-flam Joe can put on it to give it a positive spin.

"Sam, y'know, this is a young team. They're going to learn from their mistakes. Quinn is a good coach, a good man. Despite this, they're still only 10 points out of the last wildcard spot. If they go on a nice little run, they're right back in the thick of things, Sam. If Zuccarello gets hot. We've seen what he can do. We know what Kreider and Zibanejad are capable of. Everyone just has to stay positive."

Read this in Joe's voice.

Rangers are the slightest of underdogs tonight, at home. For all the brainless “we have no chance at a W talk,” it wouldn’t surprise me in the least to win at least one of the next two. Objectively, I have mixed feelings about that. A continued free fall would most certainly accelerate multiple trades for the week of 1/21.

And on that note, I expect Henrik to be exceptional with a 3-2 victory.
I don't have mixed feelings about it. I hope the Islanders drop 10 on us.

I want De Angelo to play too, but frankly I understand why he is picked out as the guy to be scratched. Most often it seems to be him or Smith and frankly, they are the two who do the vast majority of utterly imbecilic, stupid shit. Like they decide to do something dumb.
McQuaid and Staal aren't good, but they also don't do things where their decision making is particularly immature or terrible.
In any event, I'm not sure why Claesson has been so in and out, he's been much better than most of our D.

If I were the coach I would probably scratch Shattenkirk tbh. The last little while he's stood out as the worst for me.

McQuaid took a double minor against Toronto but he gets a pass for that because what he did was funny.

Shattenkirk, Smith's compete level over the past several games has been like watching one cloud compete with another to block out the sun. Yet ADA did stupid stuff while trying to compete.

I've defended Shattenkirk this year, but he looked checked out against Vegas.

Then again, this whole team looks like they couldn't give a f*** lately, and I really don't blame them.

They were set up to fail, it's part of a process that's bigger than them.

Thats true, but I thought they were pretty good against Vegas?

“You know, Sam, when we think and really look at how hard some of these guys are working in their own end...sometimes a team just goes through a tough, tough time and it’s moments like these where we see the dedication come through on the ice and in the dressing room. It’s a rebuilding moment, a learning moment for so many of these young kids that are getting better each and every day...”

Don't be ridiculous, you can hope for a loss to further the tank but why would you want to be completely embarassed?

I feel for the players, but there's certain things still going on where, yes, I want those in charge to be embarrassed.

By this year's standards, they looked pretty good against Vegas.

Any other year in my lifetime, the PGT would have been a circus after that game.

They had more quality scoring chances and for the most part, limited what Vegas was able to do.

Sure Vegas also rang the bar 3 times, but I thought it was a relatively evenly played game.

Why though?

I'm all for a hard fought loss (which are the BEST things for this group) but getting blown out doesn't really solve anything.

It just makes our goal differential more LOL, we don't lose extra points in the standings for getting our asses kicked.

Nothing is gained from it.

The Rangers simply deserve to have their asses kicked. And again, it's not the players.

Totally agree in the main - Staal, athough maybe not taking stupid penalties needs to stop thinking he's Coffey. His pinches probably cost us as many goals as any dumb penalty taken by either of the aforementioned. If Quinn is actually deliberaely / actively telling him to move up more in the play, then that's probably even more worrying.

Always a treat to watch the Isles stomp us at the Garden.
If they get 1 or 2 early on this is going to get real ugly. I don't think there's much fight left in this group right now....
