Well, I'd disagree with that, mainly because I'd say Stastny is more reliable defensively than Richards (and because Richards is ****ing awful).

And Stastny is a) 6 years younger and b) wouldn't be subject to the recapture penalty.

Not advocating for him, but he'd be a lot better than Richards.

I agree. In this crazy world so full of unknowns, one of the things I have filed away as real reality is the Richards Buyout.
Note: I like him as a person, he just is not part of the future.

His playmaking ability and vision are certainly there. Consistency and skating aren't that good, but I would rather go with Step than Stastny. We really don't need to throw more money at UFAs
