In that link Friedman says flat out that the Isles asked for Trouba and the Jets said "no", for what it's worth.

Hamonic rescinded his trade request this offseason so nothing in that link is relevant.

It was in relation to the contention that the Isles would have no interest in Trouba because if his contract situation. According to Friedman they asked for Trouba when they were looking for Hamonic trades, which would contradict that. In any case, I agree that there's no point in discussing Trouba to the Isles now. The Jets would look for something other than RHD in return.

Hamonic made his trade request in the preseason and was shopped around the league.

In Nov. Friedman broke the story, including the news Snow asked for Trouba.
If was only AFTER the Canadian press later reported Trouba had high contract demands and an agent with a rep for messy contract disputes.that Staple and Friedman would report the isles changed their minds, no longer wanted to trade for Trouba.

In the last link I provided. Staple discusses Snow"s hardline approach to rfa contracts.
