Would never work.
Butchie would never have a chance with that name.
Maybe an index card. A - THAN - AS - IOU

Oh, dear heavens! Even worse, what if they were to put him on a line with Cizikas... I mean Casey "Zeeky!"

Does Staple actually have sources/information other than what Snow tells him? Or is he essentially Snow's press release secretary?

Staple is like Patty Hearst. He says whatever Snow tells him for fear of winding up in the boneyard. He sneers at anyone who asks him to do any investigative reporting, brow beats anyone who questions coaching or moves, and publishes the equivalent of black ops pieces Snow gives him to cover for obvious mistakes. One year he wrote a piece on how Tavares "shaved" a minute off his time on ice per shift from the previous year, going from something like 56 to 55 TOI/SHFT. Too much time as an average still, but didn't bother mentioning that, just talked about how great that monumental progress was (LOL!) Anyone remotely familiar with shift lengths, good and bad, would have mentioned it, but he left it out, and obviously on purpose, as opposed to Katie Strang who doesn't even understand what a shift is. That is the crap sandwich for news coverage we have.

How about JVR, Kapanen, Carrick from TOR for Hamonic and another piece (Lee?). Kappy is ready right now and JVR would do well with JT. Leafs need a calming presence on the blue line that fits the core age group.

Snow did some really good things like the Leddy trade and I thought he turned the corner but the guy is a disaster right now. The whole Ladd thing threw the organization in limbo between rebuilding and contending and now Garth has no idea what to do with himself. They need to just punt this season and wait for the young guys.

Hamonic is not being traded, and if he is traded it's for a better player than jvr.

No thanks to Ryan Pulock for JVR.

Pulock is not living up to all this hype.

Andrew Nielsen is already a better player and he's 19.

Pulock is only 22 and has 16gp in the NHL. He's been developing. Nielsen isn't even in the NHL. Pretty much way too early to start making these claims.

Will Tavares want to hang around while the Isles go back to rebuild? What about the owners? It's hard to figure out what Snow's strategy is, but if he doesn't have a contender it seems possible that Tavares will bail and they'll need a full rebuild.

People say he's a loyal guy and you would think he would be smart enough to realize it is the right move. Different sport but David Wright re-signed with the Mets when things weren't looking good and the GM told him hey look at all these young arms we have coming up. Their future is Beauvillier, Barzal, etc. and not any late 20's trade target.

Those prospects are nice, but a long way from making the Isles a top contender. I wonder how much confidence Tavares has that Snow will have the ability to make the team a contender.

Seidenberg broken jaw, trade incoming?

NYI sits one point above Carolina in the EC and Carolina has a game in hand.

There will be no trade. The only risk is Mayfield will
Have to be waived again once everyone comes back healthy. With injuries piling up
For other teams I could see Mayfield getting claim

In my dream world, The whole Vancouver organization top to bottom throws in the towel with this generation, admits that the Sedins are done, and convinces Edler and Hansen to waive together to go on a contender with a future. Somewhere like NYI.
