stamkos isn't better than kucherov? ok then this alone proves my point that he is being intensely over rated...kuchy had 66 points last year stamkos has a 60 goal season in his past and I think Drouin WILL be better, I would rather Drouin than kuchy In 3 years.

Very few people who watch TB night-in night-out will tell you that Stamkos is better than Kucherov. Because Kucherov is just the better player at this point. We're talking 2016 Stamkos, not 2011 Stamkos. Kucherov already has the 3rd most playoff goals in TB history--more than Stamkos, in fewer games.

If both teams seemingly can't get a deal done with their respective RFA's:

:bolts
Ryan Strome
Michael Dal Colle/Anthony Beauvillier
NYI 1st 2017

:isles
Nikita Kucherov
TBL 2nd 2017

Lightning save some money and get very good value. Islanders get a dynamite RW.

No lol

14-15 to 15-16:
Tavares: 26yr in 16-17
160 gm upper 2nd comp 67.1 ZS
105 EVP 16:52 EVTOI/gm
1 SHP 0:02 SHTOI/gm
50 PPP 3:26 PPTOI/gm

Kucherov: 23yr in 16-17
159gm 2nd comp 60.5% ZS
91EVP 13:47 EVTOI/gm
0 SHP 0:01 SHTOI/gm
40 PPP 2:43 PPTOI/gm

Kucherov 13.3% less EV points in 18.3% less TOI
Short handed is a wash!
kucherov 20.0% less PP points in 20.9% less PPTOI

so
Kucherov Faced 2nd com and the 40th easiest ZS of any player
Tavares faced upper 2nd comp with the 6th easiest ZS of any Player.
Kucherov Generated More EVp and PPp per time on ice than Tavares.
Shame cooper did not give him the same TOI as Tavares.

Toews played with a terribly aged Marian Hossa and stone hands Andrew Shaw this season and he's become the HF whipping boy.

But Tavares' linemates are being used as an excuse now?

You would have to prove that Islander fans are using Toews as a whipping boy. I haven't seen any. Toews games isn't only about scoring is about strong 2 way play and he still has that in spades.

All Eyes will be on Kuch this coming season since He really broke out last season. It might be as easy for him this coming year as I am sure he will see top pairing Dmen and find he is shadowed more by a pesky forward. No doubt he is slippery and will find his spots as all Great players do.

Don't think their is not a team looking to add Kuch but Steve will find a way to shed payroll to sign him.

Bishop and Garrison could be on the outs as a Trade even though Steve would rather Dump Call and Filp with the later an extremely hard sell.

As far as Islanders go I am sure They would like a natural right winger and Strome could be part of the Bait But doubt Kuch goes anywhere.

Josh Ho Sang Could be That Right winger if given a chance over 8 goals head in clouds Strome

This is where fancy stats jump the shark. So many variables involved here and the biggest one being line mates. Give Tavares a shooter like Stamkos in the left circle on the PP and watch his assist total climb. He's already registered a 50a season and has never had a weapon like Stamkos to play with, not even close. There's a reason he's been a Hart finalist 2X in the last 4 years, one of those snubbed years being when he missed half a season.

Kucherov is a great player, but he's not on the same level as John Tavares.

Tampa has zero reason to trade anyone of high value right now other than maybe Filpula or Bishop (who they should have no problem moving). The real question is next season when Hedman and Vasi get big jumps in salary, along with a handful of RFA's Tampa will want to re-sign and not much breathing room.

Tampa wants to go for it this season though, so it's not likely they start moving contracts a season early.

This poster is notorious for using "fancy stats" to prove that the Oilers are one of the best teams in the NHL, and their faults over the last few seasons can be directly attributed to 10% of the team who doesn't have the fancy stats.

This right here is why I'm excited about Pulock replacing Okposo on the first PP unit.

But Kucherov seems to produce just without Stamkos, so it's not like Kucherov's production is reliant on Stammer.

Just looking at last season with and without Stamkos in the lineup, including regular season and playoff games:

with Stamkos: 74 GP, 29g (0.397 gpg), 61 pts (0.824 ppg)
w/o Stamkos: 20 GP, 12g (0.600 gpg), 24 pts (1.200 ppg)

Suggest the NYI would move Tavares for Kucherov is senseless. You don't move franchise talent for a good winger.

Nobody else the Islanders have is anywhere close to Kucherov's level. Nobody's suggesting that the Islanders should trade Tavares for Kucherov but it's equally senseless for the Lightning to trade Kuch for anything less.

Let's not forget that what you call only a "good winger" scored four goals on the Isles in five playoff games.;)

Kucherov's not for sale.

Nelson and Strome for Kucherov?

Nelson (capable of 40 to 50 pts with 25 to 30 goals) and Strome (who had 50 points 2 season ago) can combine for 90 points and maybe a little more if Strome rebounce from last year.

Makes sense for a trade?

I think the original offer is good value, but TB won't want to give a key winger for 3 lesser pieces.

Plus, the Isles probably couldn't fit Kucherov under the cap, unless Grabovski was to go on LTIR for the year.

That doesn't make sense for Tampa. We don't need to trade quality for quantity. We have a better Nelson in Palat and similar in Killorn, Nelson the better goal scorer. Strome isn't even signed and after last year I'd avoid him till he can show some bounce back.

There isn't a deal that works for both teams, you have some good prospects or young players but we are in a win now mode so doesn't help us. If Leddy was right handed I'd consider him but we are stacked with lefties so nothing makes sense for us.

I'm 110% sure Kucherov isn't going anywhere. You don't trade a 23 year old guy who's probably still getting better and is a proven playoff performer. You make other moves to make his contract fit.

The Bolts are not going to trade one great player (Kuch) for a package of players or picks. We are stacked with great players and struggle to get guys on the ice now that deserve ice time. Kuch if traded which I serious doubt would be for a single young player who is very close in value to Kuch.
It is more likely that Bolts would trade a package of players and picks for one great player
