So, looking at the highlights, stats, analytics, post game, seemed like they had a rough 1st, but started pushing play in the 2nd and 3rd. A bad goal on Allen (2nd one), tied it in the 3rd. Pesce and Luke getting back in their groove, Nico playing good.

So overall, didn’t play a bad game, pretty good?

I'd trade Dougie for a top 6 winger right now. He should be worth at least something useful. He is so unbelievably soft, especially for his size. I hated how he reacted when Fischer hit Dillon the other day, Dillon went down and Hamilton just stood there and watched Dillon get back up to fight Fischer. That is what Dougie should have done, but of course he is soft like a feather and Fischer has 140 career penalty minutes. Too scary an opponent obviously.

As for Palat, waive him and send him down to Utica. That guy is totally useless and has always been in a Devils uniform. And one other thing: Why the hell was Jack still on the ice when the Isles scored in OT? Why didn't he change after that stupid attempt of his, there was more than enough time.

Why does everything have to be so dramatic? They’re obviously not clicking right now. They’re working two dmen into the lineup while another gets back from a pec tear.

I thought the xGF crew was so concerned about that? How’s that looking over the last 2?

Shit is for the birds. Team isn't playing well enough. It's not fun, get that, but it's a bit over the top.

Keefe will get it sorted. Western Canada trip probably well timed, let them bond and work on their shit.

Mercer is pissing me off, and I wouldn't say no if the right trade offer got floated, but I'm also not writing him off as trash forever. He has time to figure it out.

Palat I'm probably out of patience with. He is really adding nothing right now.

Nico is a stud. Jack is going to figure it out. Blue line will be fine.

Need more from these goalies

Did some jersey mob boss make a deal with the devil to win those three cups in his lifetime and then forever suck. 4 straight losses, it's incredible how they just keep losing no matter how they play. This team is cursed. They are gonna finish bottom10 without a first round pick.

Not meaning to sound like that guy, but if Prague didn't "bond" the team, how is playing three of the league's top three teams on the road supposed to help?

Also don't understand all the Mercer heat. Don't believe he was on the ice for the OT goal; nor pretty much any of the goals against this year.

There are far bigger culprits.

Thought they outplayed the Islanders for long stretches but continue to have mental breakdowns that are killing them....Allen did bail them out a couple of times as well on some bad turnovers/puck plays....Hopefully they get it going....Mercer has been playing hard it will hopefully come together soon for him...Cotter SN and Haula played strong games again ....

Wasn’t a big fan of jacks game last night. He was yelling at Dougie on the bench at one point. He made a couple plays where it really looked like he lacked effort and other times where he was trying to do too much. I think the gwg ot goal was more on Jack than Dougie. He’s usually the most talented player on the ice most nights and he knows it but he needs to play like it consistently.

I just think the team is incredibly unlucky. Everyone plays bad sometimes and no team is perfect all the time. But with us it seems there's always something that sinks the team. Get one or two things working another one or two will go wrong. When they finally play great, the goaltending kills them. And when we finally get good goaltending something else sucks, defence, offense, special teams, puck bounces, refs..

Had that OT post (crossbar?) gone in, this could have been a season changing game. A hard physical come from behind win, it was so close.

Yes Allen kept us within reach at the end of the first and in the second period.with a pile of saves after we made reckless and sloppy plays. While Allen makes me nervous with his own knuckle-head mistakes he's a big reason we got a point out of this game. I can't stand Hamilton at the top of the power play, he's a turnover and shorthanded breakaway waiting to happen every time. And we don't have long to wait. Meanwhile Luke Hughes should sit a couple games right now in place of Nemec given Luke's repeated turnovers ten feet in front of our net.

But there were positives last night all the same. First of all, that we got a point after blowing the point the prior night. Also seen, Jack Hughes going into the corners playing a dump and cycle game. He, Bratt and Palat playing cycle along the wall. In Hughes career I've never seen a commitment to this. But Keefe has him playing dump and chase as a fail safe when the immediate rush isn't there (Marner and Mathews lived off of it in Toronto) and that's so promising. It also means he's going to have to go into the slot and battle out front more.

Hischier is playing like a first team all star, the best player on the ice, a second coming of Patrice Bergeron, it's amazing the plateau he's jumped to. I've never seen him finish goals in front like he's doing now, and his defensive positioning, getting to the spots and pinching off plays before the other team gets there is also at a level I've never seen. The positioning and anticipation and efficiency of what he's doing.

It's starting like it's going to be a bubble year like last year with multiple teams hanging around the playoffs. The Islanders are a good team by the way. Way better than Detroit, the Isles are with their defensive personnel and goaltending.

Don't like the way Keefe is managing overtimes. With Bratt, Jack, Nico, Meier and Luke we should seldom lose in OT.

Because they are a crap team, until proven otherwise.
They feel the pressure, grip their sticks too tight, and make terrible mental mistakes. They have no composure either when something bad happens or when something good happens.
There is a collective mental issue with the group.

when they have a quiet offseason and nobody hypes them up, they'll do better. Ceiling is TBD but they will definitely perform better when they have no pressure.

Didn’t watch the game last night unfortunately (or fortunately). Apparently was a fine effort overall, but some things need to be fixed.
They struggle against teams that just try to hit and create chaos and then funnel everything to the net. After years of trying to open the game up the league has gone in reverse. If every team figures this out the game slow to even more of a crawl and be even worse to watch. Young teams are loading up on skilled players and losing consistently. This isn’t a good thing for hockey.

Honestly, this schedule is f***in stupid.

Buffalo started the season with us in Prague and after today they will have still played 2 fewer games than us and when we play tomorrow we'll have played 3 more games than them.

Never mind the 30 other teams who didn't start the season over there with us.
