When the Jets played their game, they dominated

Lots of little mistakes. Poor puck management, disconnected support in the O zone, getting caught on the wrong side of the puck, etc... and it was throughout the line up

Doing those little things right is what prolongs plays and leads to scoring chances in the o zone. These are mistakes that are due to lack of attention or laziness, and we weren't seeing them during the hot stretch

Overall, maybe a C- game... but the crazy thing is that they were still a bounce away from tying it up and maybe winnj g in OT. That's a bit encouraging
Well no team is going to dominate another team for 60 mins or play mistake free hockey. In the last 5 mins of the game how many times did the puck bounce just before a Jet stick was about to shoot or pass.
Connor is snake bitten he usually scores at least 50% of those shots from the slot.
I’m not worried about their play … I would be if they played like crap … tonight it was more about bounces.

I know we won the last Islanders game and the last Caps game, but what is it with the Jets against the Islanders, Capitals and Flyers over the years?

The good news is the Jets scored two goals (both on the power play), bad news is the Islanders scored three. We've lost three in a row now, not the end of the world, but certainly not something that we want to see continue. As they say, on to the next one. I give this game three "Archie Bunkers" out of five...

The Prediction Contest for the game against the Criers has been posted for your guesses. Hopefully Sally Struthers got her message across and someone will step up and sign up to create a GDT or two (or three). See you all on Thursday! Good night...

Villardi and Nino terrible tonight.

1st line with long shifts and selfish play. Whenever jets get down that line starts taking longer and longer shifts. Connor tries to extend every time looking for just one more offensive rush, even if it is a minute thirty into his shift.

2nd line played really well, had a lot of good looks. Underlying numbers were great and if they play like that going forward they will be fine. Vlad was good on the draws and it helped them create sustained offensive zone time.

3rd line. Lowry is Lowry. Awesome, hard work. Got a tonne of minutes but didn't create much but underlying numbers were good. It's been a long time since any of them had a point.

4th had a few strong shifts but not much ice and were on for goal against. They work hard and deserve more ice time throughout the game.

Team misses Samberg. With him out too many d are playing too far up the lineup.

Josh wasn't his usual self and Demelo and Pionk struggled. The other 3 shouldn't be playing that high in the lineup.

Helle was good.

PP back to scoring which is great to see.

Just a small bump in the road though. Team is in first place in the entire league. 31 other teams wish they had our problems.

I know you will not agree but this was not a good game considering the Isles played a b2b, Sorokin is starting his 9th straight and the Jets outscored the on the pp. The Jets 5 on 5 play was average at best. I do not think I heard Perfetti's name more than once, the third line cannot score, the 4th line was fairly non existent and the defence was in shambles without Samberg specifically Power tool and Pionk. This is 3 loses in a row but they did put chance them 15 to 10.
I hope it is not a playoff slide but we will see

If the chart says Ehlers was our best player, I don't know what to say about that because I thought he was shit. How many times did he lose position of the puck in their zone?
We should have sold high mid season.

No mention of how bad the 1st line was 5 on 5?

Connor CF - 4 CA - 23 xG% - 16.3%

Scheif CF - 6 CA - 23 xG% - 17.26%

Villardi CF - 3 CA - 23. xG% - 15.92%

Great on PP, absolutely horrific numbers at 5 on5 and they were scored against

We could be worse, a lot worse.
Buffalo lost 6 to 2 at home to the San Jose Sharks.
Buffalo hasn't made a trade since July 5th!!!

Watch the highlights of the Isles Ranger game yesterday … the bounces went against the Isles in that game. One goal when off a ranger helmet who was trying to get out of the way lol First 2 Usle goals were called back and then 2 deflections went against them. That’s a 4 goal swing … S***t happens.

It was a kinda perfect game to sum up Ehlers as a player

A few amazing plays including the goal, but a bunch of stupid puck management decisions in important areas

I think archie bunker was in his early 40s...

Need a Stanley replacement. Not that I trust the org to run it like that, but we're f***ed if Samberg/Morrissey go down at all.
They could have easily just played miller/pionk for 20 mins...

Stan with 22+ mins is depressing

I have to disagree. Ehlers made a couple of questionable plays that were noticable but he was a force most of the night driving his line. He was constantly retrieving pucks and creating plays for his line and on the PP. His line spent almost no time in their own zone at even strength.

I was much more disappointed with the Scheifele line. They generated almost nothing at 5v5 and has several turnovers with horizontal and diagonal passes around their blue line. Also a few failed exits. I was ready to throw a brick at my TV at one point. The Jets had a grand total of 4 shot attempts while Connor was on the ice at even strength. Four. Jets had 19 shot attempts with Ehlers on the ice at ES and he had 5 shots on goal himself at even strength.

This kind of sums it up for me.
