The Rangers are 7th in the NHL in ROW and one point away from the 4th best record in the EC.

14-5-1 since that stupid loss to the Icelanders before Christmas.

Another great Zuke show tonight, the hobbit is certainly a magician with the puck. Brass and Pouliot should be happy to be on his line, he makes them play better too.

I honestly think that Pouliot should be the most thankful for Zuccarello. Who knows if Pouliot would still be a Ranger, or an NHLer if he had not found a niche and a modicum of success. I like Pouliot, but I wonder about where he would be by end of season, or before, if not for Zuccs.

I don't know what it is, but boy do the Rangers look really bad for long stretches, and then really good for long stretches against the Islanders :dunno:

Feels good to beat them. If nothing else, I don't have to see "QUEEN HENRIETTA" blasted all over my Facebook wall tonight. So that's a win in itself

Keep it going into the Olympic break.

Assuming you need 92 points for a playoff spot, we need to get 29 in 26 more games.

13-10-3 would do it, but I certainly want more than that

Good win, but that 2nd period was ugly. It's a loss without Hank. I thought Staal and Girardi were phenomenal, Zuke is just a beast at this point.

Glad we're done with the Islanders, they seem to bring out the worst out of us on D and PK. Dat PK. That was one of the worst PKing games we had all season, shocked we didn't give one up. We dominated 3rd for 2 straight games. How did Stepan miss that open net, what a great play by McDonagh. Zucc also set up Stralman on a great play. The guy is friggin Sidney Crosby out there every once in a while. How is no one bashing Pouliot for that terrible penalty? I guess it was soft, but still stupid in that position. Oh and this was probably Hank's 2nd best game all season after Dallas. Love to see it. D is playing well, but I feel like their style means they sacrifice some D no matter what. But now we're reaping rewards from the offense. I feel like we have 3 lines rolling. I'd prefer it be 1-3, and not 1, 3, and 4, but you know what that's probably better than most teams in the league.

Edit: And even though the Richards line hasn't been playing well they did get the insurance goal.

It will take more. The teams are just giving away loser points across the league. On pace for like 325 extra points across the league this year.

there are no easy games in the NHL but the remaining schedule does not look too bad

finished wit all the best teams in the west, except from homegames vs. Chicago and Colorado

I would say 96-97 ++ points is reasonable. Mainly because Lundqvist is back to himself again

I put snowblind in the sinbin since his "Hank is not elite anymore" tantrum. Where is he now? You got a lot of crow to eat kid, lots!

Haha, yeah like Chris Stewart, Mr. Inconsistency, is going to all of a sudden get Richards to start moving.

Richards' line did get bogged down in our zone alot tonight but it wasn't all bad. The three of them combined for a huge goal which happened to be a beautiful play; great backhand pass from Hags to leave the zone and then a thread the needle dish by Cally and a strong finish by Richie. Not all bad

Way too many high quality chances for the Islanders tonight. Much like we all alluded to in the man coverage thread, still too many issues and miscues in the slot area.

This was a frustrating game to say the least. Two quick goals to go up two numbs that pretty quickly, though.

Staal and Girardi have both been in vintage form of late. That's like acquiring two players in a trade. That is going to have a huge impact down the stretch. Let's just hope the Olympic Break doesn't sap the good vibe this team has going right now.

Any game against the Isles that John Tavares is kept off the score sheet is impressive. Staal and Girardi deserve the love but let's not take McD for granted. We had the last change and he was matched up against the scoreless JT all night and he set up Step for a dunk and scored an EN goal. Pretty good night's work, wouldn't you say?

Was about to post that the Rangers have the longest current winning streak at 3 games, but the Flames/Oilers have 3/4 respectively.

4pts back of tampa. Unfortunately we've played the most games out of any team in the playoff picture (and only NYI has played more games overall in the east)

we need other teams to start losing games.

Wouldn't quite call it a thread the needle....saw it late and was able to sauce the puck to open ice for Beaver while keeping him onside....A true playmaker would have known where the puck was going before he got it and the play would have been smoother...allowing more time for Beaver to finish off a sequence rather than the goalie giving up a softie.....re watch the whole sequence if you are unsure
