I started this on our thread, and thought it would be interesting to get our fiercest rivals opinion.

I mentioned on our board, where some fans were talking about Lundquist (mostly wishing him well), that I always liked Brian Leetch. I secretly cheered some for him, and most certainly enjoyed watching him play.

So the question I pose, what Islander player did you secretly admire, wish was a Ranger, and enjoy watching?
I think we are all adult enough (maybe) and it's the Christmas season with hockey starting, so perhaps we can have a nice convo about it on both boards. Merry Christmas ya dirty bums.

I might like Beauvillier if he'd take it a little easier on us. Scoring every game like he seems to do though--it's like f*** that.

Really it would be Matt Martin. He's old school and he's a stand up guy. He plays the same way against everybody. He hits everything that moves and hard and is generally clean. He's also a good fighter who won't back down from guys tougher than he is. Free agency would come along and I would think maybe we should sign him (Chris Neil was another) but it never happened. Now he's too old for me to want to sign.

I liked Chara in his first 3 years as an Islander. Outside of having an awesome name, I wasn't that big of a big Palffy fan. I guess he was fun to watch but it was more of an awesome name obsession like how I wanted more than anything for Miroslav Satan to play for the Devils. Barzal is obviously pretty slick these days.

Definitely Barzal, as a Thunderbirds fan.
