I think most hawks fans would do this. I have a hard time seeing Davidson trading away his first ever draft pick, his prized #7 overall pick so quickly though.

if tampa trades for a player it has to be someone they can assign to the AHL directly. they cannot add a player to there current NHL roster. no cap space. if they could they could bring in howard.

I give option #3 from Chicago:

To Tampa:
Aidan Thompson - Univ of Denver NCAA

To Chicago:
Isaac Howard

Thompson is in the Frozen Four semifinals tomorrow so Tampa would be in no rush to get him signed. Denver also has a good chance to get to the finals so that would extend his season even further.

Both players are the same size (5'11" 190lbs) with nearly the same offensive production in the NCAA.

Can’t see Tampa having any interest

they are both JR's and both can go back for there SR and be UFA. TB would want someone signed or draft pick.

And how old are they?

He's absolutely worth more than AT.

I don't think he's worth Korchinski, though.

McGroarty is the better comp return
I'm not sure McGroarty is a good comparable to Howard.

RM was drafted considerably higher in the first round of the same draft as IH. He put up comparable point totals in his Sophomore year to what Howard did this year. He's a few inches taller than Howard.

I think, value wise, McGroarty was more valuable a year ago than Howard is now. And that's not even mentioning the fact Howard is a little over a year away from becoming a UFA. Tampa would be lucky to land a Yager level talent in a deal for him.

The TOR/FLA 1st would be later than 14th overall that PIT gave up, so that should account for some of the value difference between the two

IF the NYR give up their 1st this year to PIT, I'd be willing to part with it for Howard, provided we get to pre-negotiate a contract before the deal. I wouldn't trade the unprotected first in 2026 knowing it could be McKenna.

Tanner Howe and a 2nd is also acceptable.

Might consider this one as well.

@Power Surge @DistantThunderRep

is Toronto's 1st and Lukas Reichel considered too light?

I think that would be ok if nothing gets worked out. Tampa media keeps saying that a plan with Howard was put in place but we have no idea what that is or what it means at the moment. I think if the plan is a trade then it's because we don't want to let him go for nothing.
