Is what Landeskog did worth it?

At the end of the day, the only one who can say if it was worth it or not is Landy. Personally, I have a ton of respect for him and what he played through in that cup run. The definition of a leader.

I think the scenario was if he was fully healthy going into his next deal. The way the cap is heading yeah it's possible...
No, it not at all plausible. Who is paying an NHL player 12mil on a 5 year deal that takes him to 42? Not going to happen, unless the cap goes up to 400M in the next couple years.

For context, Marleau and Thornton were both on 1 year deals as a 41yo making 1.1M & 700k.

You had a brain fart, take the L.

Landeskog had been a 50-game guy for a few years already, though I don't know if that was all knee related. Like others have said, seems very possible that not much changes either way. Hate to see it but sometimes guys just get a dealt a shitty hand in contact sports. Oscar Klefbom's shoulders were cooked by the time he was like 25. Avs fans of course also lived through Forsberg.

My guess is that he knew he needed surgery and that it was his last hurrah.
No better way to end your career. Money is in the bank as well.

`His knee was probably destroyed anyways, it just got to the point that it was no longer bearable. Cartilage injuries are limited in treatment options unfortunately.
