Regular season success doesn't always translate to playoff success. Once the playoffs start, anything can happen. Teams just have to get in.

No

The 2019 Lightning one was way worse

But that team was set up for more long runs and that's exactly what happened for them. Boston is not.

I have to think one of these two goalies is exiled out of town after that. Ullmark was a complete joke and Swayman let in at least one terrible goal in game 7.

I've been thinking someone like Buffalo and now Pittsburgh would like to upgrade their goaltending and maybe they'd like to acquire Swayman. Maybe it's Ullmark they do away with, as Swayman is over 5 years younger?

One thing's for sure: if you want to see a massive chokejob, call Bobrovsky. That's literally the only thing he is good at.

There should be no surprise here. If Tim Thomas doesn't turn into God for 2 months this core never wins anything. They probably deserved better than 1 Cup and losing 2 others ever but once you're on your 3rd different coach the truth is unfortunately that this **IS** what they are. This is a story of underachievement. It always has been

They need to make different history now

You just want people to forget the Tampa chokejob, don't you? 😀

Furthest thing from a Tampa fan. Would be fine if it was still them. Biggest difference is Tampa was basically never in that series. Bruins had three chances to close it out and was a converted breakaway, a goalie mistake, and 60 seconds away from doing so.

Although they lost in a game 7, this one feels much worst than when Tampa was beaten 4 straight. That one you knew Tampa was done, but this one is a shocker. Greatest regular season team in history got handed too.

I think "never in the series" sweep is worse than a 7 game down-to-the-wire nailbiter.

Jack's having health issues. As much as I find him to be an annoying asshole with how he commentates...listening to him last night was sad. He was really struggling and I wouldn't be surprised if he retires this summer
That’s fair. I more or less had the same opinion of him well before this season. I think he’s always been terrible, with that said, I wish the best for him in terms of his health

I’d just like to shout out the reverse sweep collapse of the 2014 Sharks against the Kings. I don’t think it’s as big an upset given those Kings were a powerhouse, but I do just like mentioning it when given the chance.

:thumbu:

I hate when the word choke gets thrown around. Both teams worked hard all year to get into the playoffs. Panthers came on strong after a really bad start and they never quit. It's the playoffs and anything can happen. An upset when you consider how the Bruins dominated all season, absolutely. But choke job? No.
It was a choke job brother.

It is the biggest upset I have seen - because of the regular season record. The 3 -0, 3-0 in Game 7 was a much worse "choke."

That Leafs team sucked. Not even close.

That Leafs team won games in spite of their issues all season. It just so happened that things caught up them in that last period. The Bruins (the team that lost last night) are head and shoulders above that Leafs team. They put up 65 wins - all with an exclamation mark - only to three games in a row.

To compare the two is foolish.

Bruins are wack. Enough of this 65 win all time great garbage. This team would get smacked by about 8 teams in these playoffs. Congrats they now own the wins record. Unfortunately history will look at them as as asterisk. Embarrassed if I were a Bruins fan right now.

The Bruins had everything they needed to win the cup:

*Selke center
*60 g scorer
*Vezina Goalie
*Jack Adams coach
*Divers to draw penalties
*toughness.
*veteran leadership
*a rat

But they lacked heart. Biggest choke bar none.

I think the Rangers are the only team left in the East that could give Toronto trouble.

They have talent and depth at forward, an elite defenseman in Fox, an elite goaltender in Shesterkin, etc.

But I am concerned they won't be able to beat the Devils.

Im certainly not confident about tonights game but if they win i feel they can get it all done.

One thing about this particular season is there are so many really good teams i cant be upset if they lose early. Tampa or toronto were going out in 1 round, rangers or devils were guaranteed to be out in 1 round and thats 2 of the top 10 teams in the league gone in a minute.

This isnt as bad as the Bruins 2010 loss

3-0 series lead

3-0 game 7 lead

They won the cup after 2010 choke...

Hopefully they are drafting 12th OA after this onr next year
