Is Tavares an automatic choice for the PK

WOuld agree with the idea its a waste to have a top offensive threat on the PK, no need to wear them out just dumbing the puck, let a role/depth guy take care of it instead.

The PK is going to Be one of the 4C’s biggest futires since there won’t be a ton of 5v5 icetime available.

Not an automatic option. We have other guys that can substitute. I am sure he will be utilized dont get me wrong on the penalty kill because he has to make his 11 dollars worthwhile. But no, not an automatic choice.

Johnsson and Kapanen both can PK and threaten odd-man rushes. Hell, throw Hyman in there too. I think they really add a dimension to our PK that not many teams have

Think we have the ability to keep teams on their toes with the speed and work ethic of our PK.

Would be nice to have our best guys our there (similar to Boston) and really grind down teams the whole game.

Tavares taking the draw and nullifying top center for 45seconds. Come back with either speed (Kapanen/Johnsson) or grind (Hyman/Brown) Depending on matchups

PK=Fast as you got players/players with iq

Kappanen is a guaranteed lock every year for the pk and he should be. He should get some shorties this year.

Hyman although not fast has high positional iq and works his ass off/blocks shots-hes a lock as long as theres no one with more speed.

Brown-Same as hyman/takes the face off.

Id like to See Johnson for same reasons as kapanen but i hope he's not soft to block shots because he could be a threat shorthanded with his speed.

We didn't really have a center on the PK last season for long stretches either.

Our go to guys were Komarov, Hyman, Brown, Kapanen, so I don't think we need anything really. Even the 4C doesn't NEED to kill penalties, though I'd prefer he's at least an option there.

I also agree with the idea that Kadri could start doing PK to balance out a bit of lost icetime to Tavares

Look at all the top PPs in the NHL, teams are moving away from the bomb point shot, wouldn't surprise me if players get hurt way less on the PK these days.

I have no problem with Tavares playing on the PK, same with Matthews.

If Jooris beats out Leivo for that 4th line LW spot, Jooris has had PK time on other teams. Maybe he rounds out the last spot with Hyman, Brown and Kap.

iis Tavares an automatic choice for the PK unit? It's key to win faceoffs so therefore Tavares would have to be on one of the pk units no? Teams lose games because of they fools on tha draws. If a sucka can't win one, they lose and be dumb.
