I am not sure his drafting is even that good. The Seider pick was obviously great but feels like hes been living off that pick. Hard to say though, its too early for a lot of the picks. He is great at acquiring picks. His signings have been bad though.

Very confused by his signings today.

They interviewed him at the draft and he seemed to be aware they were still a ways off from even contending for a wild card spot, and were very much in the midst of their rebuild.

Then he goes out to make a bunch of moves that a team “on the verge” could reasonably make.

It's funny because the GMs most people here would probably rank as "the best GMs" probably all have a lottery superstar or two on their rosters.

He absolutely deserves recognition for what he built in Tampa and for moves like drafting Seider. But the last 2 free agencies have been horrid. Spending over 11 million on Chiarot, Holl, and Maatta should be enough to get you fired

It feels like he’s not fully committed to a rebuild, or wants to get out of it prematurely. While down “at the bottom” they didn’t draft high enough for long enough to nab their next superstar forward and now they’re likely to be stuck picking at or outside the top ten every year.
