Is Scott Laughton the worst overpay in trade deadline history?

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

This guy absolutely sucks and has directly cost us 4 points in the last three games. HIs bumbling against the Panthers and Colorado were embarrassing. Is this guy betting on the other team? What would possess a GM to give out a decent prospect and a first round pick for such a non-factor? This guy absolutely sucks. The idea that we need to be patient is absolutely stupid. If your objective isn't to win, what is the ultimate point? These assets would have been better served elsewhere or kept. Why is it other teams are able to get better players for less assets than we are? In what world is this guy worth a premium pick and a great prospect? Grebenkin was more noticeable than this guy in his short stint earlier in the year.. not to mention Grebenkin the exact type of gritty player we need and always seem to trade (see Mason Marchment). This organization needs to cleanse its pro scouting department.

Stop. You are embarrassing yourself.

I didn't want him, but even I understand you need to give someone time, and not have the patience of a gnat.

We have been sparing time for decades. Is the objective to win or not? Did the scouts do their jobs? If the scouts did their jobs properly his integration into this team would be seamless like other team's acquisitions.

Are the playoffs over? Did he fail in the playoffs?

I thought that's all the mattered.

All the drama of a teenaged girl. Embarrassing.

I can appreciate the fact that he is new to the system, but playing soft and not even trying to make a hit or start a brawl is kind of embarrassing. Getting used to the team is one thing, but ffs when he played for flyers he always played hard against the leafs. Where is that Laughton? Or severe case of leafitis got him already?

It would be nice if we could win the division for once and get an 'easier' opponent. You'd think we would be closer after giving up such premium assets.

Are Avs fans saying the same thing about Coyle and Nelson? I swear Maple Leaf fans have battered wife syndrome. The guy is garbage. What you see is what you get.

If you're expecting Laughton to be as impactful as Coyle or Nelson than I don't know what to tell you. He's a 3rd liner...

There's a reason the Avalanche paid more for those players.

I want to give this guy time at centre, but he seems to be more comfortable on the wing. I think he played most of the season on the wing with Philly. No one can deny he’s been pretty brutal these three games. I see nothing that augments our team.

Go with 2nd line winger and see what he has. Can always move him back to 3rd C if he gets going before the playoffs.

Honestly the First impressions of him on the leafs are not good so far, but he only played three games for us. Let him acclimate to his new team in the last stretch of the regular season, and see what he can do in the playoffs. Hopefully he performs well there.

Our team will always suck if our top guys suck. Top guys have been awful so the team has looked awful. We should know this by now.

His recent numbers are better on the wing. That's where he should be playing.

If they're bringing him as a #3 center then it's not going to be easy for him. He can win faceoffs but the rest of his game starts to dwindle in that spot.

First of all no, not even remotely close.

I present to you Martin Erat for Filip Forsberg as Exhibit A.

Exhibit B being Tanner Jaenote for an entire draft class.

Exhibit C being Adam Oates to Philadelphia for a 1st, 2nd, 3rd and a goalie prospect.

Exhibit D would be Tatar to Vegas for a 1st 2nd and 3rd.

I can do this all day your question is completely ridiculous.

2nd It's been 3 games let's let him get settled in.
