Sanheim is currently 24th in 5v5 min/game for defenders across the NHL (and leads the Flyers). He is 10th in relxGF%.

Over the previous 3 seasons, he is 38th in 5v5 points/60 among defenders. He is 24th in relxGF%.

He leads the Flyers defenders in almost every 5v5 stat every season he's been a regular. He sees above average usage against opposing top lines and below average usage with his own team's top line. Virtually every defender on the team over the last 4 years sees a statistical boost with him. The list of defenders across the league to post these stats and receive no PP time is Sanheim and Muzzin -- one is 25, the other 32 years of age.

What it all boils down to me is: he has no vision and is a p***y defending the net LMAO. Good riddance.

That is what I see and the reason I say he's not a top line D. Maybe it's what I look for in that pairing compared to others. I keep seeing "he could be if". I'm not trying to knock him. All pairings have been a train wreck for years. The only constants have been Provorov on the top line and Sanheim on the 2nd. Both of their partners have been a mess also. He would not be on a top pair on the top half of the league's d. I guess he would be on the bottom half. I went to the draft when he was drafted. He was projected to play with Provy at some point. I think the team's once again failure to develop players to their full talent flatlined him and Provy so far. Time will tell I guess. They both needed competent vet partners early in their careers.

bro. If you ask Sanheim to be Pronger, Desjardins or Timonen your setting yourself up for failure! He dont need to be that! He only needs to be a very good offensive playmaking defenseman who helps the top lines to create offense and dont be a liability in his own end. If he plays with someone like Ellis he would be producing offensively and his defense is easy good enough to stay on a high level with a veteran top pair defenseman!

I dont know what you want to see from Sanheim. And why you critizise the stats Magua mentioned! They are all top notch! His last sentence was irony bro! PLS!

Sanheim is 105th in 5 on 5 points/60 among defensemen this season (minimum 300 total 5 on 5 minutes).

Sanheim is 10th in relxGF% this season among D, but Ristolainen is 19th. It would be strange to say it is indicative of one being a first-pairing defender, but the other being one of the worst defensemen in hockey.

I know it was. He voted YES. PLS! He IS weak in front of the net. He does leave guys open in front of the net. Once again I see him as a 2nd pairing on a good team and not a 1st. Maybe he should switch with Provorov and play with Ellis on the top pairing and Provorov can play with Risto then.

Very suspicious vote totals here. Especially after it was 17-6 just a moment ago.

Like I said…

The one is even a self-confirmed GB alt. Rofl.

Also, LOL at the idea that "cant clear the front of the net" being the sole measure of a good D-man.

Didn't we LITERALLY JUST MAKE THIS MISTAKE this off-season? Has it not burned us enough yet? We want to do this again?

He can, situationally, be the second guy on a top pair of share responsibilities. He can’t carry a quality top pair though IMO. I wouldn’t qualify any D as a 1st, 2nd, or 3rd pair D unless they’re capable of anchoring said pair individually.
