Is Rasmus Dahlin an idiot?

It seems that the Swedish coaches ended up over playing Hedman and cut Dhalins ice time. Why

Swedish coaches have been bad at recognizing player decline and improvement. They think Hedman is the 5 years younger recent Norris winner and the guy to rely heavily upon.

In the Olympics in 2014, 23 year old Hedman didn't make the team cause they wanted 35 year Henrik Tallinder on the team instead. I'm sure Dahlin will get the ice time back in 10 years when he's declining and some other younger player is more deserving.

So similar to what Hockey Canada does. They took Drew Doughty over I dunno , Bouchard. Bouchard isn't a world beater defensively but neither is doughty. As he finely displayed in yesterday's game.

If you watch the game and see Hedman getting stuck on the ice for extended shifts repeatedly, you might notice the outsized TOI went along with it. That included the 2-minute shift he had in the OT where Sweden couldn't get out of their own end. Hedman overplayed Hedman.

Lol...no

Ekholm Forsling and Dahlin were the only good dmen from that game.
Did you even watch the game? EK65 was passing at the elite level and was super calm with the high pressure and always made the right choices. This coming from a Guy who is criticizing EK a lot under the Sullivan’a system but last night he was amazing. Dahlin did nothing but cross checked McDavid and lost the puck trying to toe drag. There is a reason Dahlin doesnt get those minutes.

And save a goal? .. and create 3 near miss back door scoring opportunities..

Karlsson was coughing up the puck trying to skate thru guys continuously as well as getting worked along boards and in front of net.

Like what EK did in Kempe’s goal?

I didnt mention that because every defender including me can get the puck out of the goal line that way. Not many other defender is able to do what EK did last night.

However, i think Dahlin was playing better than Hedman and Brodin but there is no reason to glaze him after last night.

You act like the puck was just sitting there slowly inching toward the net lol

Absolutely nice play by EK... still doesn't make up for the rest of his shit game.

Forsling-Dahlin and Hedman-EK were able to break the puck up the ice in the 2nd. Hedman-Brodin were a disaster in the first, unable to handle the forechecking pressure and constantly hemmed in. Ekholm seemed like the most consistent of all of the Swedish defensemen both in terms of disrupting plays coming at him and getting the attack started, including that dash in OT that Binnington bit on but Ekholm wasn't able to finish wrapping around.

Andersson should draw in.

Tbh I don't think Sweden's problem is the defense though yeah the pairings aren't optimal yet.

Problem is the forwards.
