Is Ottawa good?

I would throw this game out. Rangers have been playing much better defensively and it just looked like one of those games that was a no show for the Senators. I don't think it's emblametic of anything more. Unless it comes a trend.

Ottawa is good, the fundamentals of their team are super strong and they will make the playoffs.

Their Achilles heel is their offense goes dry for longish spells and they are a team that struggles to get 2 goal leads - bonus is they are good at playing close games they are patient and detailed but they also lose games they should win because they can’t open up 2 or 3 goal leads. They’ve played about 5 games this year they clearly deserved to win but couldn’t build up a big enough lead or break a tie and it cost them about 5-10 points, they aren’t better then their record indicates but they are a team that when they score they are as good as any team in the league

I’m not worried because the last two back to back games were the teams focus and I think they skated hard all weekend and were clearly tired vs NYR - but I have a small concern they are in a dead legs period of their schedule (kinda like a pitcher who has a dead arm) and the schedule before the break is very gruelling. Have seen them leak oil the last couple of games

Ottawa seemingly has a mental block where every time it looks like it’s coming together, they do bad.
They had just got 11 out of a possible 12 points prior, but ya would be nice if they won every game. Hopefully Ullmark is back soon after missing a month.

The Leafs have been a strong regular season team but comments like this are so tone-deaf lol.
Ya, imagine thinking 3 of the last four leafs playoff wins were against the Sens, when that happened 20-25 years ago is a flex.

They are middle of the pack. 5-3-2 in their last 10. They were also shut out 4 times in their last 10. The 3 outright losses (Stl, Buffalo. Rangers) and and one of the OTL's (caps)

They also lead the NHL in shutting out the opposition.
