Do you have anything other than ad hominem junk to contribute?

We are in a playoff spot and I hope and everyone in Ottawa hopes we meet Toronto because they fold.

Because the Leafs identity for the last 7 years is something like:

Start of season: Tavares is old
Mid season: Tavares is amazing
End of playoffs: Boo-Hoo. Tavares sucks and the contract sucks

The battle for those East WC spots is gonna be a free-for-all but nice to see the Sens turning it around. Would be nice to see them have a strong 2nd half and get in.
I hope so, but I have a feeling the Bruins will pull away with the WC1 spot, and Philly and Ottawa will battle it out for WC2.

Would be cool to see some fresh matchups for sure.

Philly always starts out very well before collapsing later in the season, the opposite of the Sens.
Who knows how long it will last, but they were in the running all the way until game 82 last year (infamous Torts empty net game) so I’m not going to overlook them.

Why? Leafs record against the Sens is not worrying in the playoffs.

Pretty much Leaf die-hard perpetual comeback. TWENTY YEARS AGO, during the clutch and grab era, Leafs beat Sens several times in the playoffs.

Since that happened the Sens went to a Cup final, Double OT of a conference final and a lengthy painful rebuild.

The Leafs meanwhile during the same period won ONE playoff series.

ONE.

Yet combined for zero cups.

ZERO.

I must say as long as Ullmark plays even close to this level, they are pretty damn good. Like "I would trust them to make the playoffs" good.

Man Ullmark getting back to his elite level has made a world of difference for this team. Can't believe Staios added a long-term core piece in net AND got rid of that Korpisalo mess Dorion left him with all for a late 1st (which is coincidentally the 1st Dorion got back for "fixing" his DeBrincat blunder).

Anyways, adding him has given the sens one of the best C-W-D-G combos in the NHL.

Stützle-Tkachuk-Sanderson-Ullmark is a hell of a core to build around.

Ullmark is in the middle of his prime, with the other 3 just entering theirs.

Giroux, Chabot, Batherson, Norris, Pinto and Jensen are all surrounding the core well.

But their biggest surprise has been the play of Kleven and JBD on their bottom pair. They've both finally broken through the NHL, and did I'd together after playing a bunch of minutes together at North Dakota and again in Belleville. Hamonic has also been much better since Zub got hurt.
