They’ve got some young skilled players but that’s about it. “Good” is something else.

I’m not normally in favour of perpetual rebuilding but do wonder if they’d be smart to unload anyone outside of Stutzle and Sanderson and restart.

Uhm I disagree he put up 90 two years ago and looks very good this year, I believe he will be very much a top 10 center by the end of the year, I can see him hitting 100 this year.

If he goes head to head against any contenders 1C in a playoff series do you see him coming out on top? Does he get close to breaking even at least?

They really should've figured it out by now. And by that I mean not have the same type of feel of disappointment and same type of losses happen over and over again, year after year.

If this team doesn't sniff at the wild card this year, I don't know if they will ever win with this core. At some point losing just becomes part of your identity.

I mean, how much can you really do with the roster? Sure, they could have someone good at filling a specific role instead of Perron, and swap Giroux for someone closer to their prime, but most of what you can do is more or less lateral movement, and even if there's an upgrade to be had somewhere, is that enough to push them over the edge? Probably not.

Now with Ullmark signed, the core of the team is taking bulk of the cap space.

Next step is starting to shake things up for real. Explore if there's any trade possibilities for Chabot and Norris to begin with, even if the return is crap.

Absolutely he's what 22 years old? There a few contenders he'd even be the #1 center on, I don't see how trading Stutzle helps the Sens its a stupid idea, then we just spend the next few years trying to find another #1 center dummmmb idea.

Sens relying on Stutzle to be their #1 C would be like the Leafs trying to build a team around Nylander at center w/o Matthews/Marner/Tavares.
He's actually proven he can handle the spot I fail how to see how he can't handle it,

Ottawa was outshot by San Jose 39 - 11.

Managed to score 4 goals on 11 shots to win the game 4-3 because SJ got .600 goaltending.

San Jose is currently last in the league in points percentage.

Ottawa sure doesn’t look like a good team.

I mean the Sens lost 3-4 games this year where they got outgoalied, so it evens out. Pretty bad game though, I agree.
