Is Mitch Marner the 2nd best RW in the game, right behind Kucherov?

there isn't a team in existence that the Leafs would be "huge underdogs" against in the playoffs. They're a top 5 team and currently playing more like a top 2 team - missing their best 3 defencemen.
The never ending story. A team with zero sandpaper will always be underdogs in the playoffs.

You can probably make the argument, but I would still pick Rantanen and Pasta before him. Both score more goals, have playoff pedigree, and play a beat meaner game (especially Rantanen). But Mitch is a supreme talent no doubt. And he did have a good round against Tampa last spring so we'll see if he can build on top of that.

Yep, I agree. And it's hard for Marner to get much playoff success when his team keeps getting bounced early.

I'd say Marner is just behind Rantanen and Pasta as well. But there's no doubt he's at or near that level. Top 5 RW in the league.

Are you trying to say that you can’t use playoff stats because Marner has played less games?

Would playoff points per game be okay?
Why don't you just get to your most relevant cherry picked year for Partrnak 2017-2018 where he put up 20 pts in 12 games to prove your point that he is better today. I know you want to. Lets not pretend you don't understand the importance of weighting.

Pastrnaks ppg goes up in the playoffs. Marners goes down. Nothing cherry picked about that fact.

He had 6 points in 7 games last season...want to add 2017-2018 for some help in determining who is a better player today?

And I’m the one being accused of cherry picking LMAO

We can go by this season alone if you really want to do a who’s better right now

If you feel you must.
Marner on an 18 game point streak. Pasta?

Before or after taxes? Heard Toronto is pretty tough. Boston isn’t great either though.

Pasta has his own brand of (you guessed it) Pasta
He makes around 2MM in endorsements a year and they front loaded his contract to the tune of 64.5 MM.

Rantanen and Pasta are better players. He's right behind them and beside the breadman. Top 5.

Top 5 is accurate. Difficult to list one after another IMO. It tends to vary year/year. The other angle is talent needs to play with talent so some talent plays with more vs others.

Skillwise, hes at the lower end In the top 5-7 RWs. If you add his paycheck, he’s barely top 10.

Edit: forgot to add “….but if you count the playoffs (which everyone should) he barely cracks the top 20-25”
I've seen some incredibly bad takes around here but this is one of the worst ones in recent memory.

Marner is 13th overall in points this year and 4th among RW's and last season he was 10th in points and first among RW's.

Also if you want to add in playoffs, while his team did get knocked out in the first round he had a line of 7-2-6-8 with 7 Takeaways and 1 giveaway, hardly anything that is going to diminish his status.
