From the big 4 NA sports is 97 the greatest player drafted since 03 when LBJ was taken?

LBJ will end his career either the GOAT or 2nd best and he's in a tier with himself and MJ

I don't think anyone that great has come in the NFL and MLB

McDavid is looking like he'll be in a tier with 99 and 66 only

Any names that have dominated their sports as heavily as McDavid is doing this era?

Playoff success eludes but that's mostly team driven as his last year run was a top 10 run all-time.

Honestly was just going through major sports

I think if you add in Football and Cricket (huge sports in Africa/Europe/SA and Asia)

McDavid is one of the 4.5 guys to challenge for GOAT in the sport

LeBron
McDavid
Messi
Cr7 (he did challenge but now isn't there got old and couldn't keep it up. Still my favourite tho)
Virat Kohli

He's in a rare group of athletes ever

Talent wise I would think so. I don’t see how you could argue against it. All those other guys won multiple championships though so he needs at least 1 cup.

Hard to compare. Personally, I can't put him ahead of the best soccer or basketball players because those sports have global talent pools. In terms of dominance, he's up there for sure.
That's fair

I have him in a group 4-5 athletes ever to challenge to be the GOAT in their sport

LeBron, Messi, , Kohli (Indian Cricketer) and McDavid

There have been absolute legends in those sports

A tier or so below

Durant/Curry, Crosby/OV, CR7 (after his decline in 2019 pushed him back here),

But those 5 are the only guys I can think of to challenge MJ, Gretzky, Pele, Bradman

As of right now where both players are, Mike Trout > McDavid

I also don’t see that changing
Is Mike Trout going to win anymore hardware?

Super hyped and he lived up to it from individual basis. Used to follow him before and knew he had 3MVPs but is he going to add to that and other accolades?

McDavid finishing with less than 7 rosses seems impossible

MLB has a player with a 2.33 ERA and 34 HRs.

That level of talent even in a declining sport has to be first. Then McDavid's dominance.
Was that sustained or one year?

Your talking about the player on the Angel's right?

Some people say he's not the best player on their team. Trout is so if that's actually true then he can't be ahead of McDavid.

Art Ross is a counting stat award. How many Harts do you realistically see McDavid getting?

Aside from Trout’s 3 MVPs, he came top 5 an additional 6 times.

He could have had another if Ohtani didn’t decide to put up one of the most insane seasons since Babe Ruth.

And Art Ross is a counting stat award. How many Harts do you realistically see McDavid getting?
He'll get his 3rd by this year. Think he takes another 3 after that along with 4 more rosses

Ross is a major trophy though.

8-9 rosses + 6 harts + 7 lindsays +1-2 Richard's and that's #2 all time

I don't watch enough of other sports, but I don't think McDavid would be #1 out of all of them.

He would have to be like 30+ points better than other players

he's not a bad hockey player though

McDavid at 29 could just join a super team and win a couple of cups if he wants

He's not going to fall off until he calls it quits.

His regular season dominance by then will be so strong that him leaving to win a cup or two won't hurt his legacy

This is assuming the Oilers can't figure out how to win
Uh no that would be Messi
Messi is further ahead since he's at the tail end of his career

McDavid is on a very similar track.

5 rosses + 4 lindsays + 3 harts by 26 is absurd

Messi was neck and neck with CR7 until 2019 or 2020. He pulled ahead now but it was very close

McDavid when he's 35 likely is challenging Gretzky for all time GOAT like Messi is now to Pele

Calling Crosby a tier below is ridiculous. McDavid's career average works out to be 120 points per 82 games, Crosby at the same games played was 115.

Yes

The impact that McDavid has is ridiculous. if McDavid was scoring at a higher clip relative to his peers evenstrength that I would have said that McDavis is probably even more impactful than Lebron or heck even Jordan b/c in basket ball one player can dominate; in hockey its not easy for one player to dominate
