He blew off the all star game, an event people paid money to come see, because he’s socially uncomfortable? Unlikely. His ego got in the way of him realizing he’s a blessed individual making millions of dollars to play a game and he has an obligation to fans who love and support him.

What a joke to blame it on his introversion. He reeks of a spoiled, bratty, child who wasn’t ever told “no”.

Excuses, excuses. He was being a drunk douche. If he didn’t have so much of an ego he would’ve realized he was being unnecessarily disrespectful.
Exactly. The Hart includes fluid words like "Valuable" and "Voted", which means players are measured on intangibles like character and leadership, along with tangibles like production. Kucherov has the production, but his intangibles continue to be an embarrassment.

Nikita Kucherov: "The fans in Montreal acted like they won the Stanley Cup last game. Are you kidding me? Are you kidding me? Their final was last round."

Kucherov, the introvert. Lol. Imagine criticizing fans for acting like they won the Cup when their team is literally playing for the Cup.

Kucherov, or McDavid got hosed and anyone fair can see it easily. This is fuel to the fire, and probably keeps Kucherov hungrier than he already was. So carrying on feeding this fire NHL/Media: Kucherov will continue getting it done on-the-ice because historical records & accolades aren't won inside reporters heads thankfully.

Plus, the way NHL award show insulted Kucherov;s ethnicity, country,, etc was terrible, and good example of what today's sports media is about today. That was worse than anything Kucherov has ever done, period! Joking is cool, and making fun of oneself is fun to do, but that wasn't meant to be funny. No way that's accepted if done to another player from USA, Canada, or elsewhere. Are we going to accept USA/Canada players being insulted, after all the unjust wars western governments have done over-the-years? Are we? Not shocking this happened though: being an open racist, de-humanizer, etc. seems to be all the rage for some.

Arguably could have been a Conn Smythe winner in 2021 leading playoff scoring by 9 points.
And today he lost out for both the Ted Lindsay and Hart award.

Considering his lead over other teammates this year, plus getting 100 assists, and having the most points in the league, he ends up empty handed.
Of those 100 assists close to 40 or so were secondary, so how much hardware should you get for displaying an effort 60 times and lazily just clearing the puck and having it bump into a teammate's stick 40 other times?

Kucherov was also invisible in this year's playoffs and....lost to the Leafs, the only team to have lost to the Leafs in the playoffs in decades. Again, why does this merit any praise? I won't even get into the fact that points-based awards should not exist, as they encourage individual play over positioning...

He finished with 7 points in 5 games against the Panthers this year, and ended the playoffs with a -1. That is a typical stat line for a team that has Kucherov as their main guy, taking high risk/high reward chances up the ice every time. Its how he has always played, but he came in to the league in 2013-2014 when the lightning was already a contender, and then they eventually became the most stacked team of the salary cap era since the blackhawks, and now we are finally seeing Kucherov on an above average team that isn't making the history books with hall of fame talent surrounding him.
