That sucks. He was solid in the WHL and I personally thought he had a higher upside than Woll.Broken

Maple Leafs' Ian Scott: Unavailable for AHL Toronto
Rotowire MAR 31, 2022
Scott (undisclosed) is not playing with AHL Toronto currently, Kevin McGran of The Toronto Star reports.
Scott missed the first three months of the season with an injury as well, and it appears he has suffered another one. The Maple Leafs' organizational goaltending depth is being tested with Jack Campbell (ribs) and Petr Mrazek (groin) unavailable at the NHL level.
Not much out there. Kuemper and Holtby and one assumes Kuemper is going back to Colorado.Hard to imagine the Leafs goalie tending plans for next year would be Mrazek and Kallgren as their tandem in net, with Campbell a pending UFA.
Gibson has been on a shit Ducks team for years.
There is a HUGE difference between a good goalie on a shit team
and a good team with a shit goalie
Gibson is the first one
Leafs are the second one
bring them together and watch what happens.

Fleury too I guess. I don't think it was ever confirmed he wouldn't come to TO and a year of him wouldn't be the worst thing but I kind of think he is likely to retire or grab a final year in whatever city he plans to live in.
Holtby is good this year but not the last 2 so is that someone they can or should commit to? Maybe, but there is a risk attached for sure. Too bad he wasn't the guy they signed instead of Mrazek @ 2 x 2. So they buy out Mrazek, resign Campbell for a low dollar hoping he comes back, and gamble on Holtby?
Or buy out Mrazek, let Jack walk and deal for Gibson hoping the team in front of him is why he isn't good any more?
Or buy out Mrazek, trade for Varlamov, and scour the bargain bin for a backup for $1.5M. I think the cost of getting another team to take on Mrazek's remaining 2 years in addition to acquisition costs for a new starter would be too high. Easier to pay a bit extra on the new goalie for a little retention rather than to find a team with a goalie to spare who is also prepared to take on 3.8 x 2.
I have no idea what the clubs goalie move might be, just that they aren't looking to HFBoards for guidance. For now just lighting a candle for 2021 Campbell to find his way back.
With 33 year old Bobrovsky signed for 4 more years @ $10 mill/season it doesn't matter if there is a young stud waiting in the wings.Lets hope Campbell holds up and we go all the way this year, because next year our goaltending might even look scarier.
Other Atlantic teams like TB has Vas, and both Florida (Spencer Knight) and Boston (Jeremy Swayman) have young studs in training, so Leafs are heading into gray territory.
Mrazek probably isn't going anywhere. So prepare for him to be a significant part of the goaltending next season.
He's not disappearing on Robidas Island, and trading him away won't be easy. Get those ideas out of your head.
He will play for the Marlies until his next injury I guess. You cant count on him. What if wants to play?
What's Ville Husso gonna get? I'd look at him if Campbell isn't the guy. Kalgren isn't that bad he just needs more reps to clean things up, so more AHL games and he could be the backup sooner than later.
